This modern conference space can hold up to 280 Theatre or 150 Cabaret and can be re-configured in many ways – providing you with the freedom to design your conference, event, awards ceremony or product launch to your own specifications.

The Burdett Suite includes the Orangery and Courtyard, perfect for networking, catering and exhibitors. A private registration area, cloakroom and greenroom. The tranquil courtyard offers guests a space to relax and gather their thoughts.

The spaces includes the latest AV technology, digital signage along with built in LED lighting perfect for branding.




Frequently asked questions

Room hire rates vary by space and day of the week. The Marlborough Theatre costs £2,300 VAT exempt per day (Days 2-4) or £1,700 VAT exempt per day (Days 1 & 5), with sessions running 8am to 5pm. The Green House costs £1,800-£2,150 VAT exempt for evening events, while The Edwards Room costs £2,250 VAT exempt per day. All rates are subject to change and quotes are valid only at the time of enquiry.

Most spaces have minimum catering spends ranging from £1,500-£3,700 plus VAT per day. The Marlborough Theatre requires minimum 30 people with £3,000 plus VAT minimum catering spend. The Green House accommodates up to 140 standing or 60 formal meal, while the Marlborough Theatre holds up to 60 theatre style or 45 cabaret. Minimum numbers vary by space and must be met regardless of actual attendance.

The daytime catering package costs £62.40 per person (minimum 40 people) and includes arrival refreshments with JING tea and Notes Coffee, mid-morning tea/coffee with biscuits, two-course buffet lunch, afternoon tea/coffee with cake, plus still/sparkling water and fruit basket throughout the day. Individual items like fork buffet cost £39.50 per person plus VAT, with coffee breaks at £4.65 per person plus VAT.

Standard AV includes PA system with bluetooth, roving microphones, 2 fixed digital branding screens, staging if required, LED multicolour lighting, and 500MB wifi. More advanced setups include lecterns with computers, Microsoft Office, multiple microphones, comfort monitors, and projection screens. AV technicians cost £380-£456 plus VAT per day, with additional microphones at £50 plus VAT each.

Overnight hold is charged when you need to keep equipment or setup in the space between event days. The Marlborough Theatre charges £1,140 VAT exempt for Day 1 and £1,550 VAT exempt per night for Days 2-4. Other spaces may have different overnight rates, and this is essential for multi-day events or when setup/breakdown extends beyond standard hours.

Standard session times are typically 8am to 5pm for daytime events, with evening events running 6pm to 10pm or midnight depending on the space. Additional hours cost £300 VAT exempt per hour. Viewings are available Monday to Friday between 9am and 4pm. Events outside standard hours incur additional charges that must be factored into your budget.

The venue gets quite booked up, especially for popular dates, so early booking is strongly recommended. The booking process involves initial enquiry, proposal review, site visit with an Event Manager, and space hold if proceeding. You'll work with a dedicated Event Manager from booking through to event day, and quotes are held for 5 working days before follow-up contact.

Room configurations depend on the specific space - some have ceiling height restrictions (around 4 metres in certain areas), which affects staging and LED screen installations. The venue can accommodate various layouts including theatre, cabaret, standing reception, and formal dining. Some spaces have built-in features like bars and screens that may influence your event design and setup options.
