The Garden room is located in the Grade II listed Georgian town house part of the venue and overlooks both Cavendish Square and our Courtyard Garden. The rooms original purpose was a traditional library and research resource before being revamped into a stunning space perfect for a board meeting, training or workshops.

The Garden room has 3 different spaces making it the perfect space to host registration, the meeting and lunch or drinks.

The Garden room can accommodate up to 50 Theatre, 24 Cabaret or 24 Boardroom and comes with a 55" plasma screen.




Frequently asked questions

Room hire rates vary by space and duration. The Marlborough Theatre costs £2,300 VAT exempt per day (days 2-4) or £1,700 VAT exempt per day (days 1 & 5) for sessions from 8am to 5pm. The Edwards Room costs £2,250 VAT exempt per day. Additional hours are charged at £300 VAT exempt per hour.

Most spaces have minimum catering spends ranging from £1,500 to £3,000 plus VAT per day. The Marlborough Theatre requires a minimum catering spend of £3,000 plus VAT per day with minimum numbers of 30 people. A typical daytime catering package costs £62.40 per person (minimum 40 people) including arrival refreshments, mid-morning break, two-course buffet lunch, and afternoon tea.

The Marlborough Theatre accommodates up to 45 cabaret style or 60 theatre style. The Green House holds up to 60 formal meal or 140 standing. Room configurations must meet minimum numbers requirements - typically 30 people for theatre spaces.

Standard AV includes PA system with bluetooth connection, roving microphones, fixed digital branding screens, staging (if required), LED multicolour lighting, and 500MB wifi. Some rooms include lecterns with computers, Microsoft Office, multiple microphones, comfort monitors, HDMI inputs, and infrared induction loops.

Yes, overnight holds incur additional charges. The Marlborough Theatre charges £1,140 VAT exempt per night for day 1, and £1,550 VAT exempt per night for days 2-4. These fees apply when you need to keep equipment or materials in the space between event days.

Standard session times run from 8am to 5pm for most business events. Viewings are available Monday to Friday between 9am and 4pm. Extended hours beyond the standard session times incur additional hourly charges of £300 VAT exempt per hour.

Yes, multiple rooms can be booked simultaneously. For example, you can combine the Edwards Room (£2,250 VAT exempt) with the Green House (standard rate £1,850, but 20% discount available when booking multiple rooms, making it £1,480 VAT exempt). Each room blocks other potential bookings, so no discounts apply to the primary room.

Initial proposals are provided with estimated totals that are not final invoices. Room hire and catering prices are valid at the time of enquiry but may be subject to future price changes. The venue recommends placing spaces on hold as they get booked up quickly, especially around popular event dates.

Some rooms have specific limitations - for example, one space has a ceiling height of about 4 metres, which cannot accommodate 6-metre high structures like large LED screens. Rooms can be configured for different layouts including cabaret, theatre style, and boardroom setups, with capacity varying by configuration.

The daytime catering package includes JING tea and Notes Coffee Roasters on arrival with mini pastries, mid-morning tea/coffee with biscuits, two-course buffet lunch, mid-afternoon tea/coffee with cake, plus still and sparkling water throughout the day and whole fruit basket. Individual items like coffee breaks cost £4.65 per person plus VAT.
