Marlborough 2 is an airy, functional space with natural daylight, air conditioning and is pillar free. Its located in the modern conference building and is served by two lifts to the 2nd floor making it fully accessible. All catering is served in the spacious foyer area directly outside the room flooded with natural daylight and is the perfect setting for networking between sessions or evening drinks. The room is perfect for a small standalone meeting or booked as part of the Marlborough Suite.




Frequently asked questions

Room hire rates vary by space and duration. The Marlborough Theatre costs £2,300 VAT exempt per day for days 2-4, and £1,700 VAT exempt per day for days 1 and 5, with sessions running 8am to 5pm. The Edwards Room is £2,250 VAT exempt per day. Additional hours beyond standard session times cost £300 VAT exempt per hour.

Most spaces have minimum catering spends that must be met. The Marlborough Theatre requires a minimum catering spend of £3,000 plus VAT per day with a minimum of 30 people. The daytime catering package costs £62.40 per person (minimum 40 people) and includes arrival refreshments, mid-morning break, two-course buffet lunch, afternoon break, and water throughout the day.

Capacity varies significantly by space and layout. The Marlborough Theatre accommodates up to 45 cabaret style or 60 theatre style. The Green House holds up to 140 standing, 60 formal meal, or 12 tabletop exhibitors. Room dimensions are provided for each space to help plan layouts.

Standard AV equipment includes PA system with bluetooth connection, roving microphones, fixed digital branding screens, staging if required, LED multicolour lighting, and 500MB wifi. Some rooms feature lecterns with computers, Microsoft Office, multiple microphones, comfort monitors, and projection screens. AV technicians are available for £380-456 plus VAT per day if needed.

Standard session times are typically 8am to 5pm for daytime events. Evening events can run until 10pm or midnight depending on the space. Additional hours beyond standard times cost £300 VAT exempt per hour. Overnight holds are available for multi-day events at rates ranging from £1,140 to £1,550 VAT exempt per night.

Viewings are available Monday to Friday between 9am and 4pm. The venue recommends placing spaces on hold as they get quite booked up, especially around popular dates. Site visits are highly recommended and include meeting with dedicated Event Managers who will handle your event from booking through to the event day.

The venue cannot accommodate very low budgets for certain group sizes. For example, they cannot meet budget requirements under £1,500 VAT exempt per day for rooms accommodating 20+ attendees. They also indicated they cannot work with budgets around £1,000 for two-day conferences, suggesting minimum viable budgets start significantly higher.

Catering includes JING tea and Notes Coffee Roasters throughout the day, with options for pastries, biscuit selections, buffet lunches, and afternoon refreshments. Fork buffets cost £39.50 per person plus VAT, while coffee breaks are £4.65 per person plus VAT. All menus are seasonal and subject to change without notice.
