Frequently asked questions

Room hire costs vary by space - the Tudor Hart room is £660+VAT, Anderson Room pricing varies by capacity (22 boardroom maximum), and the Great Hall is £5,520+VAT. BMA House offers two outdoor spaces: the Courtyard & driveway, and an exclusive botanical Garden. The Garden closes at 22:00 but events can continue in the Garden Room until 23:00. These spaces have been recently made available for filming and provide unique period location options.

Enquiries must be confirmed by specific deadlines (example given was 25th June for a July event) or they expire from the system. The venue experiences high enquiry volumes with response times of 1-2 days. Site visits can be arranged during weekdays for viewing spaces.

The 3rd floor is wheelchair accessible but requires use of a wheelchair lift with weight limitations that may not accommodate electric wheelchairs. The venue needs advance notice of wheelchair users to ensure proper accommodation. Ground floor spaces like the Garden and Garden Room offer easier access.

The Garden & Garden Room can only be booked from 6:30pm-11pm for certain events, though other timing arrangements may be possible. The venue cannot book outdoor spaces only - indoor space hire is required. Setup access varies by booking type, with some events receiving access from 4pm and others requiring full-day hire.

Built on Charles Dickens' former London home site, the venue features Georgian-inspired architecture designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens. The Great Hall retains original art deco barrel-vaulted ceilings from 1985, and the building offers both historical and contemporary production backdrops with plenty of period features throughout.

BMA House holds Gold Green Tourism accreditation and supports British farmers while requiring suppliers to meet high ethical and sustainability standards. This results in lower carbon footprints for events and productions, making it suitable for environmentally conscious filming projects.
