Christmas packages are £95 per person plus VAT including 2 pre-dinner drinks, 3-course seated meal, ½ bottle house wine, water, tea, coffee and petit fours.
Can I bring external caterers for my dining event?
No, external catering is not permitted due to their exclusive contract with in-house caterers. All dining events must use BMA House's catering services, which include various package options from fine dining to Christmas menus.
What are the minimum guest numbers and catering spend requirements?
Most dining packages require minimum numbers of 40 guests. There's a minimum catering spend of £3,500 plus VAT for larger events, with some smaller rooms having minimum spends of £250 plus VAT for lunch or £35.95 per person for certain packages.
Which dining spaces are available and what are their capacities?
The Garden and Garden Room accommodate up to 50 guests for seated dinners. The Great Hall can host up to 150 seated guests, while the Prince's Room, Snow Room combination works for 50 guests. The Harvey Room accommodates up to 100 standing for receptions.
What are the venue hire costs for dining events?
Room hire varies by space and timing. The Great Hall costs £5,520 plus VAT for evening hire (6:30pm-11:30pm), while smaller spaces like the Prince's Room cost £1,170 plus VAT for half-day hire. Wedding venue hire starts at £6,600 for multiple spaces including the Garden and Garden Room.
What timing restrictions apply to dining events?
The Garden closes at 22:00 but events can continue in the Garden Room until 23:00. Most evening dining events run from 6:30pm-11:30pm. The Garden and Garden Room can only be booked from 6:30pm-11pm for events requiring that space size.
What's included with room hire for dining events?
Room hire includes tables, linen, crockery, cutlery, glassware, Chiavari chairs, uplighters, PA system for background music and microphones if needed. Wedding packages also include dedicated wedding planner, operations team, and security staff on the day.
Are there any restrictions on music or entertainment for dining events?
PA systems are included for background music and microphones. The venue can accommodate DJ setups and music performances, though specific entertainment requirements should be discussed during booking as some events may require additional technical support or equipment.
How far in advance do I need to confirm my booking?
Enquiries are held in their system temporarily with expiration dates typically 10-14 days after initial contact. You must confirm interest by the specified date (such as 25th June or 25th July mentioned in correspondence) or the enquiry will be released from their system.
What bar arrangements are available for dining events?
Bar setup costs £250 plus VAT, and you can put money behind the bar pre-event. Cash or account bar options are available. Christmas packages include specific drink allocations, while other packages may require separate bar arrangements to be discussed.
