Frequently asked questions

DDR packages are priced at £70-£102 per person depending on requirements. The standard DDR includes venue hire from 08:00-18:00, standard AV package (lectern, laptop, screen, projector, PA system, 3 microphones, AV technician), dedicated hospitality space, refreshments on arrival, mid-morning refreshments, lunch, mid-afternoon refreshments with cake, venue staffing, utilities, furniture setup, free Wi-Fi, and dedicated event and hospitality managers. Additional catering options like 1-hour Senate drinks packages cost £15.95 per person.

Room hire varies by space and duration. The Woburn Suite (G22/26) costs £1,400 for a 12pm-5pm hire. The Senate Room is £1,800 for 08:00-17:00 hire. All venue hire rates are VAT inclusive, while catering and additional services are subject to VAT charges.

The Woburn Suite accommodates up to 90 people in theatre layout or 50 in cabaret layout. Beveridge Hall can handle up to 160 people in cabaret layout with 20 round tables of 8 chairs each. The venue cannot accommodate classroom format for 40+ people due to space limitations and long-term lease bookings occupying larger spaces.

Standard venue hire operates from 08:00-18:00. The venue cannot accommodate requests for 06:00 access or very early morning setup. Events typically run during business hours, and there are additional charges for catering service outside standard hours, including weekends.

Standard AV includes laptop/PC, data projector, screen, internet access, and up to 3 microphones. For additional AV beyond the standard package, you must contact ConferenceCast/Torpedo, the approved UoL AV provider. The venue provides AV technician assistance during setup for included equipment.

All bookings require completion of events application and due diligence forms for review and approval before confirmation. These forms must be submitted to be assigned a dedicated event manager. The venue responds within two working days with a proposal after receiving completed documentation.

The venue works in partnership with Gather and Gather for hospitality services. Information about external catering arrangements or dry hire options is not specified in available documentation, and would need to be discussed directly with the venue team.

The venue frequently experiences availability issues, particularly in June 2025 and other peak periods due to long-term lease bookings.
