Senate House offers 14 affordable meeting spaces with natural daylight that can host numbers ranging from 8 - 100 people in theatre style. In 2024, our meeting rooms went through significant renovation. With brand new AV equipment, including 85" Samsung screens and one-touch access to Zoom, our meeting rooms are now fully up to date and ready for any sort of event.
Woburn Square

Woburn Square is the smallest of Bloomsbury's green spaces and is available for exclusive hire. Lofty sycamores, bushes and a path line, the perimeter of this quaint rectangular garden, giving you the feeling of complete sanctuary. Woburn Square is perfect for outdoor events, performances, outdoor cinemas, and more. Access can be managed by security and production parking is available next to the space.
The Sunken Garden

The Sunken Garden is Bloomsbury's best kept secret. The space is gated, which gives exclusive access and makes it easy to hold ticketed events. The space in the heart of Bloomsbury is perfect for filming and photography. Access and security can be managed by the University.
Torrington Square

Torrington Square is a rectangular public space with gravel paths and grassy plots. At the southern side of the square is the University of London's Senate House flanked by Birkbeck College. The venue is available to hire on a sectional basis as a dry hire venue and is a perfectly versatile space. Torrington Square is a public space, however a part can be blocked off for private use. Access and security can be managed by the University.
Gordon Square
Capacity: Up to 1250 Standing guests

Gordon Square is the perfect location for filming and outdoor photoshoots. The space is a tranquil grassy hideaway in the heart of Bloomsbury. It's flanked on all sides by beautiful Georgian properties and is dotted with a beautiful mix of trees, shrubs and flowers. This University associated venue is available to hire on a sectional basis for filming and photography. The full square can be accessed by the public, however we can block off the top half for private use and manage access and security. A range of hospitality can be provided to these areas.
Senate House Christmas parties
Capacity: Up to 200 Reception guests

We provide complete support throughout the Christmas party planning process, offering extra services such as photography. When you book Beveridge and/or Macmillan Hall, our beautiful reception space Crush Hall is included. To get the party started, choose from our reception drinks and food packages served in this impressive marble foyer that's the perfect space to welcome your guests. The sweeping staircase complete with magnificent Christmas tree makes for a festive setting to remember. We can request Temporary Event Notice to extend bar hours for serving alcohol.
