Fine room 1 is is the largest and grandest of our Fine rooms. With a marble fireplace, ornate ceiling, chandelier, and full height windows, it is the perfect space for corporate or private receptions. From lectures and symposiums to private dinners, product launches and art performances it is a versatile event space.

The adjoining Fine Room 2 can be used alongside as an equally impressive breakout or catering space, giving your event a sense of space and light.




Frequently asked questions

Fine Rooms 1 & 2 combined cost £2,300 + VAT for a full day hire (09:00-17:00). Evening hire rates vary by duration - for example, 16:00-22:00 costs £3,492 + VAT including waiting staff. All prices exclude VAT and waiting staff are not included in basic room hire quotations unless specified.

Fine Rooms 1 & 2 combined accommodate up to 170 guests reception style, 80 guests banquet style for sit-down meals, or 100 guests theatre style. Fine Room 1 alone can hold up to 100 guests theatre style or 80 guests on round tables for dining.

The DDR package costs £75 + VAT per person with a minimum of 25 guests (though some quotes show minimum of 40 guests). It includes full-day room hire (09:00-17:00), pastries and fruit on arrival, 3 servings of tea/coffee/biscuits, bottled mineral water, hot or cold fork buffet lunch, dedicated waiting staff, AC, and WiFi.

Conference projector costs £250 + VAT, PA system £300 + VAT, microphones £85 + VAT each, and plasma TV £150 + VAT. AV technician services cost £85 + VAT per hour with a 4-hour minimum, recommended when using more than 3 microphones or lapel microphones.

Hot or cold fork buffet has a minimum of 15 guests, while sandwich lunch has a minimum of 10 guests. All drinks are charged on consumption with no minimum spend. The venue offers internal catering with menus provided, and external caterers are permitted with a £600 + VAT dry hire fee plus equipment rental.

External catering requires a £600 + VAT dry hire fee including ground floor kitchen access. Equipment rental includes chairs at £3.50 + VAT each and tables at £12 + VAT each. Corkage charges are £12 + VAT per wine bottle, £15 + VAT per champagne bottle, and £1 + VAT per beer bottle.

Yes, the building is fully accessible with a lift to access bathrooms and a ramp placed outside for wheelchair users during arrival and departure. The Hutchison Room specifically is confirmed as wheelchair accessible, and wheelchair users cannot use a stairlift.

A late license can be acquired until midnight with an additional fee of £500 + VAT per hour from 10pm onwards. Standard event hours appear to run until 22:00, with extensions available for an additional charge.

The venue offers the Hutchison Room (up to 20 guests boardroom style, £750 + VAT per day), Library & Studio combination (26 guests on one table or 34 cabaret style), and Gallery space (18m x 5.5m, £580 + VAT per day with mandatory £600 + VAT technician for wall installations).

Invoices must be paid before the event date and become overdue if not settled promptly. The venue can place spaces on hold while quotes are being considered, and site visits can be arranged to view the spaces before booking.
