What are the room hire costs for private events and parties?

Fine Rooms 1 & 2 (combined capacity up to 170 reception style or 80 banquet style) cost £2,300 +VAT for 09:00-17:00 hire, with evening rates at £2,138 +VAT. The Hutchison Room (up to 20 boardroom style) is £750 +VAT per day. All prices exclude VAT and waiting staff are included in room hire fees.

What are the capacity limits for different event layouts?

Fine Rooms 1 & 2 combined accommodate up to 170 guests reception style or 80 guests banquet style for seated dinners. The Hutchison Room holds up to 20 guests boardroom style. The Library accommodates up to 26 guests on one large table or 34 guests cabaret style.

What catering options and minimum requirements apply?

Day Delegate Rate packages start at £75 +VAT per person with a 25-guest minimum, including full-day room hire, pastries, tea/coffee breaks, and hot/cold fork buffet lunch. Hot or cold fork buffets have a 15-guest minimum, while sandwich lunches require a 10-guest minimum. Three-course festive meals cost £50 +VAT per person.

How does the dry hire option work and what are the additional costs?

Dry hire costs £600 +VAT on top of room hire fees and includes use of the ground floor kitchen. Asia House provides no equipment, tables, chairs, linen, cutlery, glassware, or waiting staff with dry hire. Additional equipment rental: chairs £3.50 +VAT each, tables £12 +VAT each. Corkage charges apply: £12 +VAT per wine bottle, £15 +VAT per champagne bottle, £1 +VAT per beer bottle.

What are the licensing hours and late event fees?

Standard events run until 10pm. A late license can be acquired until midnight for an additional £500 +VAT per hour from 10pm onwards. All alcohol and beverages are charged on consumption with no minimum spend requirements.

What AV equipment is available and what are the costs?

Conference projector costs £250 +VAT, PA system £300 +VAT, plasma TV £150 +VAT, and microphones £85 +VAT each. AV technician services cost £85 +VAT per hour with a 4-hour minimum, recommended when using more than 3 microphones or lapel microphones.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible and what accessibility features are available?

The venue is fully accessible with a lift to access bathrooms on lower levels. For wheelchair users, a ramp is placed outside the building before arrival and when guests leave. The Hutchison Room is specifically confirmed as wheelchair accessible, and wheelchair users cannot use stairlifts.

What are the booking and payment requirements?

Payment must be made before the event date, with invoices becoming overdue if not paid promptly. The venue can place spaces on hold during the enquiry process. Virtual tours are available online, and venue viewings can be arranged upon request.

What guest number limitations exist for different event types?

The venue cannot accommodate large weddings (240+ guests were declined). Fashion shows have been successfully hosted with L-shaped catwalks between Fine Rooms 1 & 2. Events requiring more than the venue's maximum capacity of 170 reception style are referred to alternative venues.

What additional services require mandatory technician fees?

Gallery wall installations require a mandatory technician for hanging artwork, costing £600 +VAT for install and deinstall. The Gallery space itself costs £580 +VAT per day and measures 18m x 5.5m on the lower ground floor.
