Is Shoreditch Town Hall available for weddings and what are the seasonal restrictions?
The venue is unavailable from late June through July, August and September due to large rehearsals that occupy the entire venue. Wedding bookings must be scheduled outside these months. Additionally, from 24th November to 17th December, the venue hosts KIN London's Christmas Social and is not available for private bookings.
What is the booking confirmation process and payment requirements?
No agreement exists until a contract and full terms & conditions are signed by both parties and all hire fees and charges are paid in full. Any enquiry or discussion should never be taken as confirmation. The venue reserves the right to vary or cancel hires without liability even after contracts are signed.
What catering options are available for weddings?
The venue operates primarily on a dry hire basis, allowing you to source external caterers of your choice. They have featured catering suppliers who have previously worked at the venue and can provide recommendations. An in-house bar service is available with a separate Bar Hire Guide. There are no permanent kitchens on site, but the Old Servery adjoining the Assembly Hall can be used by caterers to set up equipment.
What furniture and seating arrangements are provided?
Folding chairs and trestle tables are available on site and should be discussed with the venue. For larger events, up to 500 Matrix seats can be installed in the Assembly Hall with an additional 250 seats available in the balcony. You are welcome to source external furniture and décor from other suppliers.
What production and AV services are available?
The venue can provide full production in-house including audio, video and lighting equipment. They offer bespoke production quotes based on your specific requirements. A separate Production Guide is available with detailed information about their technical capabilities and services.
Who is responsible for setup and breakdown of the wedding space?
It is the hirer's responsibility to set up and clear down the space unless specifically discussed with the venue in advance. If the venue assists with setup, this time will be factored into the hire period and may affect pricing.
What types of events are prohibited at the venue?
The venue cannot accommodate club nights due to the listed status of the building and the nature of their cultural programme. They also cannot host sporting events despite historically being a boxing venue. All events must align with their curated cultural programme approach.
How does the venue's cultural programming affect private bookings?
Shoreditch Town Hall runs a fully curated cultural programme where all shows are developed in consultation with the venue. Private events must align with what the venue considers appropriate for their programming. They recommend reviewing their previous productions and programming approach before enquiring to ensure compatibility.
