The Ballroom is the main attraction with an impressive, yet welcoming setting. Seating up to 120 or 200 standing, the Ballroom is located on the 1st floor, has natural daylight and air-conditioning. The room has a host of original Victorian features lending itself as a wonderful dining setting. Suitable for Private Dining, Gala events and Parties



Frequently asked questions

The venue offers two private dining packages: £99 per person for minimum 35 people (includes private room hire, arrival drink, 3-course set menu with tea/coffee, half bottle wine per person, half bottle water per person, dedicated event planner, VAT and service charge) or £105 per person with maximum 2-2-2 menu choices for the whole group. Additional drinks are charged on consumption basis.

The Canterbury Suite accommodates maximum 50 people in banqueting style with 65.33 sqm of space on the 1st floor. The Ballroom Suite can accommodate up to 120 people banqueting style with 174.24 sqm of space, also on the 1st floor. Both rooms have natural daylight, air conditioning, heating, disabled access, and WiFi.

Provisional bookings are typically held for 1 week on 1st option or shared option basis. Decision deadlines are strictly enforced - for example, decisions may be required by 5pm the following day with automatic release if not confirmed. Final event details must be submitted by specific deadlines, such as noon on Friday for events the following week.

Standard private dining events typically run 6pm-11pm (5 hours). Christmas packages run 18:30-23:30. Timing adjustments may be possible but are subject to availability and potential requoting. Any changes to original event requests may require new pricing.

Additional services include: drinks minimum spend options (£500-£600 including VAT recommended), printing at £0.75 per page double-sided colour A4, name tag printing on place cards, PA system with wireless microphones at £250 including VAT (Ballroom only), and lectern at £60 including VAT.

Cancellation charges apply as follows: 52-12 weeks prior = 30% of function charges, 12-8 weeks = 50%, 8-4 weeks = 80%, and 4 weeks or less = 100% of charges. These terms apply to all private dining bookings.

Clients can bring decorations and materials directly on the event day - no delivery service required. The venue needs advance notice of delivery date, time, and colleague name. Setup arrangements and any overnight security requirements for multi-day events would need to be discussed separately.

Christmas packages are available at £115 per person for minimum 50 people, including private room hire, arrival drink, 3-course festive set menu with tea/coffee and mince pies, half bottle wine per person, Christmas tree, novelties and crackers, and dedicated event planner. VAT included, service charge not applicable.

Drinks minimum spend of £500-£600 including VAT is recommended for greater flexibility in guest choices. Additional drinks beyond the package are charged on consumption basis. Card bar can be set up where guests pay for their own additional drinks, or the venue can arrange alternative payment methods.
