Frequently asked questions

The venue is completely unavailable from late June through July, August, and September due to large rehearsals that occupy the entire venue. Additionally, from 24th November to 17th December, the venue exclusively hosts KIN London's Christmas Social and cannot accommodate other bookings during this period.

No agreement exists until a contract and full terms & conditions are signed by both parties and all hire fees and charges are paid in full. Any enquiry, discussion or correspondence should never be taken as confirmation, and the venue reserves the right to vary or cancel hires pre and post contract without liability.

The venue operates a tiered booking system with first, second, and third options for dates. If you're offered a second or third option, this means other events already have provisional holds, and you'll be contacted if those bookings fall through.

The venue operates primarily on a dry hire basis, allowing you to source external caterers of your choice from their featured suppliers who have previously worked at the venue. They can provide an in-house bar service, but there are no permanent kitchens on site - only the Old Servery adjoining the Assembly Hall can be used by caterers to set up equipment.

Folding chairs and trestle tables are available on-site, and furniture requirements should be discussed with the venue. For larger events, up to 500 Matrix seats can be installed in the Assembly Hall with an additional 250 seats available in the balcony. You can also source external furniture and décor from outside suppliers.

The venue can provide full production in-house including audio, video, and lighting equipment. They offer speakers, projectors, and monitors, with bespoke production quotes available based on specific requirements. A Production Guide is available with detailed information about their technical capabilities.

It is the hirer's responsibility to set up and clear down the space unless specifically discussed with the venue in advance. If the venue agrees to handle setup/breakdown, this time will be factored into the hire period and likely affect pricing.

The venue cannot accommodate club nights due to the listed status of the building and the nature of their cultural programme. They also cannot host sporting events despite their historical boxing venue heritage. All events must align with their curated cultural programme approach.

For theatre-style events, up to 500 Matrix seats can be installed in the Assembly Hall, with an additional 250 seats available in the balcony. The venue can accommodate audiences of 650-700 people for talks and presentations when using both the main floor and balcony areas.

The venue runs a fully curated cultural programme, meaning all shows are developed in consultation with the venue. Events must align with their programming philosophy, and potential hirers should review their previous productions and working methods before applying. The Cultural Programme team processes these applications, though it's a small department with potentially long response times.
