Frequently asked questions

Screen 3 (Phoenix) seats 28 people and costs £682 + VAT per slot. Screen 5 (Renoir) seats 150 people and costs £2,313 + VAT per slot. Evening slots are either 6pm-9pm, 8.30pm-11.30pm, or 5.30pm-8.30pm depending on the screen, with doubled pricing if you want both evening slots.

Curzon can source most films including new releases and classic titles, with availability checked once a date is confirmed. Content must be delivered in DCP format 72 hours before the event or technical rehearsal. If you have content in other formats, conversion costs £500 + VAT for anything over 20 minutes, requiring ProRes or MP4 format.

The hire includes use of screen and projector, up to 3 handheld microphones, technical support, a 30-minute technical rehearsal at 10.30am prior to the event day, and the cost of most films. Additional fees apply for late content delivery or missed technical rehearsals.

The bar costs £300 + VAT per hour for exclusive use for up to 150 people standing. If you don't hire the bar exclusively, it remains open to the public. The bar hire is separate from screen hire costs and covers exclusive access only - all drinks are charged separately with no service charge and no minimum spend required.

In-house options include tea/coffee receptions, breakfast items, pizzas, light bites, and cinema snacks like large popcorn (£5 each) and still water (£2.20 each). For drinks, they offer self-service house wine, prosecco, beers and soft drinks at £6 per person per drink, with cocktails and premium drinks available on pre-order. All food and drink orders must be placed 2 weeks before the event.

Curzon takes bookings from 1st August onwards across all sites. Content must be delivered 72 hours before the technical rehearsal, coordination information is required by 2 weeks before the event, and final food/drink numbers must be provided at least 13 days prior to the event.

After enquiry, they request a hold from programming, then send contract details via DocuSign to the signatory. Once the contract is countersigned, full payment is invoiced ahead of the event. A running sheet is created using coordination questions that must be returned 2 weeks before the event to arrange staffing and orders.

The smaller 28-30 seater screens at Bloomsbury are not currently set up for private hires according to recent communications. Screen 3 (Phoenix, 28 seats) and Screen 5 (Renoir, 150 seats) appear to be the main options available for private screenings and events.

Evening slots are based on fitting around two regular evening shows. Pricing quoted is for one evening slot only - if you want both evening slots the price doubles. Monday off-peak slots have different pricing than weekend peak slots, with weekend rates being higher than weekday rates.
