Frequently asked questions

Screen 5 (Renoir) costs £2,313 + VAT per slot for Monday-Sunday. This includes use of the screen and projector, up to 3 handheld microphones, technical support, and a 30-minute technical rehearsal at 10:30am prior to your event day. The screen seats 150 people with 141 main auditorium seats and 9 balcony seats.

Evening slots are 5:30pm-8:30pm (early) or 8:30pm-11:30pm (late), based on fitting around two evening shows. The quoted price of £2,313 + VAT is for one evening slot only. If you want both evening slots, the price doubles to £4,626 + VAT total.

Content must be delivered in DCP format 72 hours prior to your technical rehearsal. If you have content in another format, conversion costs £500 + VAT. Additional fees apply for late delivery or missed technical rehearsals, though specific amounts aren't specified.

Exclusive bar hire costs £300 + VAT per hour for up to 150 people standing. This covers closing the bar to the public - all drinks are charged separately on top of this hourly rate. There's no service charge on food and drinks, and no minimum spend requirement.

For drinks, they recommend budgeting £6 per person per drink for house wine, prosecco, beers and soft drinks on a tab system. All food and drink orders must be placed 2 weeks ahead of your event to ensure staffing and stock - orders cannot be guaranteed after this deadline.

Curzon Bloomsbury is taking bookings from 25th July onwards (some sources mention 1st August). All content must be delivered 72 hours before your technical rehearsal, and food/drink orders need to be confirmed 2 weeks prior to your event.

If you don't hire the bar exclusively, it remains open to the public during your event. Since it's described as a busy bar, this means public access continues alongside your private event unless you pay the £300 + VAT per hour exclusive hire fee.

Screen 3 (Phoenix) seats 28 people and costs £682 + VAT per slot. However, the smaller 28-30 seater screens at Bloomsbury are not currently set up for private hires, so availability may be limited.

After expressing interest, you provide contract details and the contract is sent via DocuSign. Once countersigned, full payment is invoiced ahead of the event. Coordination questions must be returned by a specified deadline (13 days before for final numbers) to arrange staffing and confirm all elements.

For smaller groups, Curzon may suggest alternative locations like Camden or Victoria venues instead of Bloomsbury. The venue appears to prioritize larger events that can fill their main 150-seat screen rather than accommodating very small private screenings.
