Frequently asked questions

The Library has a room hire fee of £500 based on a minimum catering spend of £1,000. The Charles Suite is complimentary based on a minimum catering spend of £1,800. The Conservatory charges £1,500 room hire based on a minimum catering spend of £1,500.

The Library accommodates up to 30 guests for standing receptions. The Charles Suite seats up to 50 guests on 10 round tables or up to 30 guests on one oval table. The Conservatory seats up to 40 for lunch on round tables or 30 on one oval table.

Afternoon tea is £75 per person with last serving at 5pm. For private afternoon tea in the Charles Suite, there's an additional £600 room hire fee plus the £2,250 minimum catering spend for 30 guests.

Three-course private dining is £95 per person in the Charles Suite, buffet lunch is £45 per person in the Conservatory, and canapes start from £4 per piece. Tea, coffee and petits fours are £7 per person across all spaces.

House wine starts from £44-£50 per bottle, Champagne from £110 per bottle, Prosecco is £55 per bottle, bottled beers are £10 each, soft drinks from £6 each, and mineral water is £8.50 per 750ml bottle.

A discretionary 15% service charge is added to the final invoice. All quoted rates are inclusive of VAT at the current standard rate.

A 55-inch plasma screen is available for £50 per day. PA system and microphone are available, with microphone hire at £30, though they're rarely requested due to room size.

All quotes are valid for 5 working days and are based on the brief provided. The venue does not hold space during the quotation process, and if any element of the brief changes, the quote will need to be revised accordingly.

The Library features floor-to-ceiling oak-panelled walls, alcove bookcases, and hand-stitched leather armchairs. The Charles Suite has stunning chandeliers hand-crafted for New York's Tavern on the Green with natural daylight. The Conservatory offers a glass ceiling that can be opened for fresh air and natural light.

Afternoon tea service ends at 5pm. Enquiries are typically released after 5 working days without response, and quotes require revision if event details change from the original brief.
