Frequently asked questions
What are the room hire costs and minimum spend requirements for The Muse business space?
The Muse room hire costs £600-£1,200 including VAT depending on duration and setup. For full-day meetings (9am-5pm), room hire is £1,200 including tea/coffee station, water, and AV equipment, with an additional minimum food and beverage spend of £800 including VAT. A 13.5% service charge applies to all food and beverage spending.
What are the capacity limits and seating arrangements available in The Muse?
The Muse accommodates up to 23 guests maximum in boardroom setup for meetings. The space can be divided into two smaller areas - one for up to 10 guests and another for up to 5 guests. For seated dining events, it can accommodate up to 23 guests in one long table setup.
Can I extend my meeting into an evening dinner event in the same space?
Yes, The Muse can accommodate extended events that transition from daytime meetings to evening dining. For example, a full day meeting (9am-5pm) can extend to dinner service (6pm-11pm).
Are there any additional fees beyond room hire and minimum spend?
Yes, a mandatory 13.5% service charge applies to the final bill. If bringing your own cake, there's a £100 fee. All prices quoted include VAT, and beverages are charged on consumption on top of minimum spend requirements.
What happens if my group size changes after booking?
The Muse has a strict maximum capacity of 23 guests in a boardroom setup. Should your group exceed this number, the dinner will need to be held in the restaurant instead.
What AV equipment and technical facilities are included with The Muse hire?
The Muse includes HD TV, video conferencing facilities, and WiFi as standard. For full-day hires (£1,200), AV equipment is included in the room hire fee. The space has natural light and air conditioning for comfortable meeting conditions.
What catering options are available and are there any pre-ordering requirements?
Bespoke catering is available with tea/coffee station, still and sparkling water included in full-day hires. All food requires pre-ordering from the venue's kitchen - you cannot bring external catering except for cake (£100 fee applies). Beverages are charged on consumption and the venue will notify you when minimum spend is reached.
What are the typical operating hours and timing restrictions for business meetings?
Business meetings typically run from 9am-5pm for full-day events. The venue can accommodate various timing requirements, with examples showing meetings from 10am-4pm with lunch breaks, and evening extensions available for dinner events until 11pm.
How far in advance do I need to book and what is the booking hold policy?
The venue operates a booking hold system where spaces are temporarily reserved pending confirmation. If no response is received by the specified deadline (often by 12pm on the day), the hold is released and the space becomes available to other clients.
What external vendor restrictions apply for corporate events?
You cannot bring external catering - all food must come through the venue's kitchen. The only exception is cake, which incurs a £100 fee. For beverages, all drinks must be purchased through the venue and are charged on consumption rather than packages.
