Frequently asked questions

The bar hire costs £300 + VAT per hour for exclusive use for up to 150 people standing. If the bar is not hired exclusively, it remains open to the public as it is a busy bar, so exclusive hire is required to guarantee private use for your event.

The ground floor bar can accommodate up to 150 people for standing receptions and networking events. This is the maximum capacity for the space when hired exclusively.

Curzon advises budgeting £6 per person, per drink for their standard self-service selection of house wine, prosecco, beers and soft drinks. For cocktails, G&Ts and hard seltzer cans, they work on an agreed pre-order basis. There is no service charge on drinks and no minimum spend requirement.

All food and drink orders must be placed 2 weeks ahead of your event to ensure proper staffing and stock availability. Orders cannot be guaranteed after this deadline, so early planning is essential.

The ground floor bar space includes DJ equipment for entertainment, branding opportunities for corporate events, and licensed bars. The venue features modernist design throughout and is located within the historic Curzon Bloomsbury cinema.

Evening slots are typically 6pm-9pm or 8:30pm-11:30pm, based on the cinema's ability to accommodate two evening shows. The early evening slot at Curzon Bloomsbury runs 5:30pm-8:30pm.

Curzon Bloomsbury is currently taking bookings from 1st August onwards across all their sites. Events cannot be booked before this date.

In-house, Curzon can provide tea and coffee receptions, breakfast items, pizzas and light bites. For more extensive catering requirements, they work with external caterers and can provide details of approved suppliers.

After confirming details, Curzon sends a contract via DocuSign to the signatory. Once countersigned, they invoice for full payment ahead of the event. A coordination questionnaire must be returned by a specified deadline to arrange staffing and confirm food/drink orders.

Curzon plays content from DCP format as standard, with content required 72 hours prior to any technical rehearsal. If you have content in another format, they can convert it for £500 + VAT, but this must be in ProRes or MP4 format.
