Opened by Queen Victoria in 1845, the Great Hall, complete with striking fresco, minstrel's gallery and a ceiling of beautifully worked oak, is described as one of the most impressive surviving buildings of its kind in London and provides a spectacular setting for all types of events. Suitable for receptions for up to 450 guests, dinners for up to 280 guests, lectures and ceremonies for up to 300 guests and wedding receptions and dinner dances for up to 200 guests. The adjoining Bench Rooms and an east facing terrace overlooking impressive grounds is perfect for arrival receptions.




Frequently asked questions

Lincoln's Inn is closed for the entire month of August and during Easter from 17th April at 15:00, reopening on 28th April. These closure periods affect all event bookings and cannot be accommodated during these times.

The Old Hall accommodates up to 120 guests for sit-down dinners or awards ceremonies. For events requiring larger capacity with a minimum of 120 guests, you must use the Old Hall/Crypt combination. The Ashworth Centre lecture theatre holds a maximum of 130 guests in theatre style, with events restricted to 08:00-17:00 and all guests departed by 17:30.

Room hire for the Old Hall & Crypt ranges from £2,750 for evening events to £8,520 for larger events like the Great Hall & Bench Rooms. Minimum food & beverage spend requirements range from £7,310 to £18,600 depending on the space and event size. Christmas packages start at £176 per person plus VAT with a minimum of 90 guests.

Conference events must end by 16:00 with all guests departed by 16:30. Evening events typically run until 22:30 with de-rig by 23:00, though extensions are available with bar closing at 00:00 and guests departing by 00:30 for an additional £960 plus VAT.

Outside food is strictly prohibited - all catering must be provided in-house. Day delegate rates start at £91 plus VAT per person with a minimum of 140 guests, or £104 plus VAT for enhanced packages. Conference suite day delegate packages are available for 90-158 delegates at £127.20 plus VAT per person.

Meeting spaces require a minimum of 30 guests. Day delegate rate packages require minimum 90-140 guests depending on the package selected. For events in the Old Hall/Crypt, there's a minimum requirement of 120 guests for certain event types.

The venue is not suitable for sixth form proms and certain event types may be declined based on suitability. While DJ and entertainment can be accommodated, the venue maintains discretion over event appropriateness and may require additional fees depending on caterer requirements.

Setup access typically begins at 16:00-17:30 for evening events, with some events allowing access from 08:00 for day conferences. De-rig must be completed by 23:00 for standard events, or 00:30 for extended events. Early access from 16:00 may be available but should be confirmed during booking.

Security services cost £480 plus VAT and may be mandatory for certain events. Event extensions cost £960 plus VAT. Additional fees may apply depending on your caterer's specific requirements, and all prices are subject to 20% VAT.
