What are the capacity limits for different event formats?
The venue can accommodate up to 120 guests for standing receptions, 80 people for dinner service, and 60 people maximum for seated meals. For conferences, the maximum capacity is 70 guests in theatre style seating.
What additional costs apply for dancing and entertainment?
For dancing with background music through the PA system or silent disco, you can use the Reception Room at no extra cost. If you want a DJ with full sound system, you must hire the Wolfson Room and Exhibition Area for an additional £700 plus VAT, with DJ services starting from £850 plus VAT.
What are the access times and late license fees?
Standard access times are 8am-5pm for day events. Evening events typically run 6pm-11:30pm, with a late license to midnight available for £500 plus VAT.
How does the booking process work with provision holds?
The venue offers provision holds on preferred dates while you review proposals and make decisions. December dates are available on a first-come, first-served basis due to high demand, so early booking is essential for Christmas events.
What room combinations are recommended for different event types?
For workshops and meetings, the Laurie Landeau and Fellows rooms are recommended. For larger events, the Council Chamber and Reception room combination is suggested. For events requiring soundproofing or additional space, the Wolfson Conference Suite with Exhibition Area is available.

Beyond the standard delegate package, you can upgrade to healthy working lunch for £5.50 plus VAT per person, bowl food (5 bowls per person) for £11.50 plus VAT per person, or fork buffet lunch for £15.00 plus VAT per person. All upgrades have minimum number requirements.

The reception-only wedding package is £171 including VAT per person based on 30 guests. This includes first floor venue hire (5pm-11pm), arrival nibbles, glass of Prosecco, 5 canapés, 3 bowl foods, two-hour unlimited house wine/beer/soft drinks, bar setup with white linen, uplighters, PA system, handheld microphones, iPad with Spotify, reception team, security, and unmanned cloakroom.
Are there restrictions on guest numbers for weddings?
The venue can only accommodate up to 60 people for seated wedding meals. For larger wedding parties, you would need to consider reception-style events or reduce guest numbers to meet the seated dining capacity limit.
