Grand Connaught Rooms brochureStanding on Great Queen Street, that connects Covent Garden with Holborn in the West End of London, is the Grade II* listed De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms. With a history dating back to 1775, the building has long been an important event venue, and was once home to the original Freemasons’ Tavern before becoming a hotel in 1909.
Since then, the venue has hosted some of the world‘s leading politicians, royalty and celebrities with its grand Georgian architecture and art-deco interiors offering 37 exceptional spaces for a wide range of conferences, exhibitions, celebrations and weddings.

Dry hire packages start from £10,000.00 and can be reduced to £14,000.00 inclusive of VAT for certain events. Room hire is VAT exempt and includes meeting room hire, pads and pencils, free comprehensive Wi-Fi throughout the site, and chilled conference mineral water inside the room.
What are the Day Delegate Rate packages and pricing?
Day Delegate Rates range from £55.00 to £87.00 per person inclusive of VAT (reduced from standard rates of £129.00-£189.00). The package includes room hire 09:00-17:00, air-conditioned room with daylight, superfast Wi-Fi, water, pastries and smoothies on arrival, yogurt and granola pots, energising lunch, free-flowing tea and coffee, flipchart, and 3000 lumen LCD projector with 8'x6' screen.
What are the capacity limits for different room setups?
Room capacities vary by space: Dorset Suite accommodates up to 60 delegates in classroom style, Cambridge Suite up to 24 in boardroom style, Cornwall Suite up to 200 cabaret or 250 theatre style, and Grand Hall up to 400 cabaret or 650 theatre style. All rooms have natural daylight, disabled access, and are located on different floors throughout the venue.
What additional catering options are available beyond the standard packages?
Additional catering includes unlimited tea, coffee and refreshments at £11.50 per person inclusive of VAT, energising lunch at £20.95 per person, sandwich lunch at £12.95 per person, bacon or egg bap at £4.95 per person, and Danish pastries at £4.00 per person. All F&B rates are inclusive of VAT where applicable.
What AV equipment is included and what are the upgrade costs?
Standard package includes 3000 lumen LCD projector and 8'x6' screen, plus one flipchart. LCD projector and screen upgrades start from £195.00 inclusive of VAT, with bigger screen upgrades available at additional charges. The venue has in-house AV professionals and can provide quotes for additional equipment requirements.
What are the booking hold policies and decision deadlines?
The venue offers joint 1st option holds for events, but requires decisions within specific timeframes. Booking holds are released if no updates are received, and confirmation decisions must be made by specified deadlines (such as 1pm on a particular date) or the booking will be automatically released.
Are there restrictions on ticket sales for events?
For ticketed events, all tickets must be pre-purchased and the venue does not allow tickets to be sold on the night. This policy applies to all ticketed events regardless of size or type.
What are the venue's operating hours and setup requirements?
Standard room hire operates from 09:00-17:00, with all spaces required to be vacated by 17:00 or additional de-rig charges apply. Setup from 06:00-09:00 can be arranged complimentary for certain packages. The venue provides dedicated event managers for larger events.

Boardrooms 1-4 accommodate up to 12 in boardroom style at £650.00 VAT exempt per room.
What are the minimum numbers and payment requirements?
Day Delegate packages typically require minimum guaranteed numbers (such as 10 people for boardroom packages). Payment terms require certain fees to be paid no later than 1 month prior to the event. Room hire rates are VAT exempt while catering and additional services are inclusive of VAT where applicable.
