Frequently asked questions

The Wilberforce Room costs £2,450 + VAT per day (9:00-17:00) for up to 180 dinner and dance or 300 standing. The Riverside Room costs £2,350 + VAT per day for up to 100 standing reception. For exclusive hire of multiple spaces like Muscovado Hall and Riverside Room, costs are £7,600 + VAT (18:30-23:00). All room hire includes basic AV equipment like projector, screen, PA system with 1 handheld mic, and Wi-Fi.

The venue's maximum capacity is 250 people in theatre layout or 180 in cabaret layout. The Wilberforce Room can accommodate 180 for dinner and dance or 300 standing. The Riverside Room holds up to 100 standing reception with access to a private terrace that can accommodate an additional 350 guests standing.

Bovingdons is the house caterer providing wedding packages. Christmas packages start from £162 + VAT per person with minimum 150 people, including room hire, canapés, bowl food, unlimited drinks, and cloakroom. Summer packages start from £106 + VAT per person at London Museum Spaces and £117 + VAT per person at Docklands. All catering must be arranged through approved caterers listed in their brochure.

Standard event timings are typically 9:00-17:00 for daytime events, with evening events running 18:30-23:00. Access is usually provided 1 hour before guest arrival (e.g., 8:00 access for 9:00 guest arrival). The venue can accommodate extended hours for setup and breakdown, with specific timings negotiated based on your event requirements.

All rooms include projector, screen, PA system with 1 handheld mic, and Wi-Fi as standard. Additional AV options include: AV technician at £350 + VAT, extra microphones at £50 + VAT each, stage setup at £500 + VAT, and additional uplighters at £25 + VAT each (4 uplighters included). The venue can accommodate external AV suppliers if preferred.

Yes, the Riverside Room has its own private terrace with capacity for 350 guests standing. This outdoor space is perfect for drinks receptions, ceremonies, or extending indoor celebrations. The terrace provides additional flexibility for wedding events and can be accessed directly from the Riverside Room or through the museum spaces.

The venue operates on a first and second option system, where dates can be held as second option while waiting for first option clients to confirm. Popular dates get booked quickly, with the venue sometimes needing to deadline other clients when ready to contract.
