Frequently asked questions

Room hire varies significantly by space and timing. Rooms 3&4 (combined) cost £1,960 ex VAT for 8am-4pm, the Hall costs £1,731 ex VAT for 6pm-11pm (with 10% discount applied), and the Parliament Chamber costs £2,094 ex VAT for Christmas events. The Lecture Theatre and Reception Area cost £4,296 ex VAT for 9am-4pm or 6pm-10pm.

The Hall accommodates up to 276 for dining (recently increased from 240), Rooms 3&4 combined hold 62 in theatre style, the Lecture Theatre seats 120 in theatre style, and the Marquee can accommodate up to 600 guests. Christmas events can handle up to 400 guests across various spaces.

The Lecture Theatre has a minimum catering spend of £2,640 ex VAT. Dinner packages start from £142 ex VAT per person including venue hire, drinks, and 3-course meal. Christmas lunch events start from £85 ex VAT per person, with room hire additional at £2,094 ex VAT.

The Hall is available Monday-Friday from 6pm onwards, and weekends during both day and evening. The venue closes for August summer holidays and reopens from September 8th for events. The Marquee season runs from mid-June to mid-July (2026 season: June 16 - July 9).

Catering includes arrival tea/coffee/pastries from £8.50 ex VAT per person, classic sandwich lunch from £19.30 ex VAT per person, house wine from £5 ex VAT per glass, and afternoon refreshments from £7.15 ex VAT per person. Bowl food costs £35 ex VAT per person, and canapés start from £20.50 ex VAT per person.

Basic AV is included with most spaces - the Lecture Theatre includes PA system with 1 microphone, Rooms 3&4 include screen and video conferencing facilities, and the Hall includes PA system with 1 microphone. Additional AV requirements would need to be quoted separately.

The venue does not automatically place provisional holds - you must specifically request this. They will contact clients with first option for updates before offering second option holds. For events close to the date, confirmation is required quickly (example given was confirming before April 30th for a May 14th event).

There is a room hire price freeze offer for 2026 events, allowing you to book at current 2025 rates. This offer ends August 31, 2025, with terms and conditions applying. This represents significant savings for forward bookings.

Dry hire for weddings costs £15,000 ex VAT and includes use of all internal event spaces with your own caterers. This allows complete flexibility with catering arrangements while providing access to the venue's historic spaces.

Filming is usually restricted to weekends only, though exceptions can be made depending on requirements. All filming requests must go through a specific application process via their website at innertemple.org.uk/filming, with rates and availability detailed there.
