Frequently asked questions
What are the minimum spend requirements for private hire at Swingers West End?
Private hire minimum spends vary by space, day, and time. The Palm Lounge costs £9,500 inclusive of VAT and service charge for evening events (18:00-00:00), while the Gin Terrace costs £7,500 inclusive for similar timings. Full venue private hire starts at £4,000 from 7pm to close, including food, beverage spend, crazy golf, and service charge.
What is included in the service charge and how much is it?
A discretionary service charge is automatically applied to all bookings. The rate varies between 10% and 12.5% depending on the specific event and space hired. This service charge is added to your subtotal and is included in the final quoted price.
What are the capacity limits for different private spaces?
The Palm Lounge accommodates up to 50 guests, the Gin Terrace holds up to 50 guests, and the Meteorite floor can handle up to 900 guests for larger events. The venue can accommodate events across two floors for groups of 200+ guests, though this significantly increases costs.
Can I hold my booking without making payment?
No, Swingers cannot put specific dates on hold without payment due to high demand. You must make an initial payment to secure your booking date, and they advise moving quickly once you decide to proceed with a proposal.
What are the standard package options and pricing?
Three main packages are available: Jet Set (£66 per person + 10% service charge) includes 3 house drinks, street food, dessert, carnival games, and 90-minute reserved area; All Set (£78 per person + 10% service charge) includes 90 minutes unlimited drinks plus the same inclusions; Ultimate Set (£98 per person + 10% service charge) includes 3 hours unlimited drinks and 3-hour reserved area.
What entertainment and activities are included in private hire?
Private hire includes one round of 9-hole crazy golf per person with scheduled tee-off times, access to Swingers Carnival (5-9 games per person depending on package), and DJ entertainment typically starting from 18:00. The venue also features 30 retro arcade games and a 3D photo podium.
Are there age restrictions for events?
Swingers is usually an 18+ venue, but they offer family packages for younger demographics. Under 18s are only allowed on Sundays during specific sessions (11am-12:30pm, 12:30pm-2pm, 2pm-3:30pm, 3:30pm-5pm) and must vacate before 6pm.
What food and beverage options are available?
The venue features three of London's best street food vendors including Pizza Pilgrims, Patty&Bun, Breddos Tacos, and Crosstown. Food spend is typically allocated as part of minimum spend requirements, with street food valued at £16-17.50 per person in packages. Four cocktail bars serve house drinks, deluxe drinks, and specialty cocktails.
What AV and technical facilities are available?
The Gin Terrace has speakers available for events. For presentations and corporate events, the venue can accommodate AV requirements, though specific technical details would need to be confirmed with the operational team during the booking process.
What are the typical event timings and operating hours?
Evening events typically run from 17:30/18:00 to 00:00 (midnight). Daytime events can start from 12:00, and the venue offers flexibility with timing. Christmas and festive packages may have different time allocations, with some offering 3-hour reserved areas.
Are there any budget limitations or minimum requirements?
The venue operates on minimum spend rather than flat hire fees for most spaces. Budgets below £4,000 may be too low for private hire options. For smaller groups, package deals starting at £66 per person may be more suitable than private hire arrangements.
What additional services and amenities are included?
Private hire includes complimentary cloakroom facilities, dedicated event planner support, private bar access, and exclusive use of designated spaces. The venue offers site visits to view spaces and meet the team before booking, which is recommended for larger events.
