How far in advance must food and drinks be ordered and paid for?
All food and drink orders must be placed or amended up to 5 working days in advance of your event. Full prepayment of the pre-order is required 1 week in advance of the event through the online ordering system.
What deposit is required and when must it be paid?
A 20% deposit is required to secure the booking. The deposit must be paid within 48 hours of receiving the online payment link via email.
Can guests order individually from the menu during the event?
No, individual ordering is not permitted for group events as there is no way to track the minimum spend requirement. All orders are placed on one accumulative tab which can be split at the end if needed.
Is The Captain's Table completely soundproof from the rest of the venue?
No, while The Captain's Table is a private room sectioned off from the rest of the venue, it is not completely insulated from sound outside the room. You should expect some ambient noise from the main restaurant area.
What menu options are available for private dining events?
You can choose from group pre-order menus, a reduced a la carte menu for individual ordering, or canape and sharers menus laid out across the table. All menus are ordered through the online ordering system and must be pre-paid.
Are there any age restrictions for evening events?
Yes, The Oyster Shed operates as an 18+ venue after 6pm. Events with guests under 18 would need to be scheduled for earlier time slots.
What audio-visual facilities are included with The Captain's Table?
The Captain's Table includes a flatscreen TV, and you have the option to listen to the venue's in-house music or play your own. You will also be appointed a personal server for the duration of your event.
How does the booking hold policy work?
The venue does not hold areas without a deposit. You must confirm your booking with the required 20% deposit within 48 hours of receiving the payment link to secure your reservation.
