Named after the legendary Blue Train of South Africa, this meeting room is elegant and air-conditioned making it productive and comfortable! Suitable for up to ten guests, this is one of nine meeting rooms located on the first floor at The Clermont Hotel. Great for executive meetings and gatherings that require privacy and a quiet environment.

Room hire rates vary by space: The Ghan Suite (6 people) is £500 per day, Blue Boardroom is £500-600 per day, and The Orient Suite is £1,500 per day. All rates include VAT, pads, pens, mineral water, sweets, complimentary WiFi, and LCD screen/projector. The Orient Suite includes natural daylight, air conditioning, and ceiling-mounted LCD with drop-down screen.

The Orient Suite accommodates up to 56 cabaret style, 80 banquet, 100 theatre style, or 40 U-shape. The Blue Boardroom has fixed furniture suitable for boardroom meetings. The Ghan Suite seats 6 around a circular board table and is the most intimate boardroom option.

DDR packages range from £75-£95 per person per day depending on group size and dates. The package includes arrival refreshments, mid-morning tea/coffee, restaurant buffet lunch, afternoon refreshments, room hire, stationery, WiFi, dedicated event host, and basic AV equipment (LCD projector, screen, flipchart).

Evening meetings are not permitted as there are bedrooms on the same floor as the meeting spaces. The venue cannot accommodate meetings that would disturb hotel guests staying overnight.

Booking holds vary from 2-5 days depending on the offer type. First option bookings typically require confirmation within 5 days, while shared options may have shorter holds. Some urgent bookings require signed contracts and payment by specific deadlines (sometimes within 24 hours).

Tea/coffee with sweet or savoury snacks cost £5 per person per serving. For events requiring minimum spend, drinks and nibbles can be pre-ordered with minimums of £1,500. Restaurant tables can be reserved in The Soak restaurant for lunch breaks, billed on consumption.

Classic rooms cost £250-£309 per night including breakfast and VAT for single occupancy, or £265 for double occupancy. Rates vary by season and availability, with higher rates during peak periods.

The venue offers First Option (exclusive hold for specified days), Shared Option (multiple clients can hold the same space with first to contract winning), and 2nd Option (another booking has priority). Shared options mean there may be competition for the space from other potential bookers.

All meeting rooms include LCD screens/projectors, complimentary WiFi, natural daylight, and air conditioning. The Orient Suite has ceiling-mounted LCD with drop-down screen and marble pillars. Flipcharts are available, and some rooms have plasma screens or whiteboards.

The venue requires minimum guaranteed numbers for DDR packages (typically 30+ people for best rates). Last-minute bookings are often declined due to handover requirements to the hotel team, especially over weekends when the events office is closed.
