Frequently asked questions

Christmas party packages start at £145 ex VAT per person (minimum 60 guests) and go up to £169 ex VAT per person for larger events. All packages include exclusive room hire, Christmas theming, entertainers on arrival, 45-minute sparkling wine and cocktail reception, 5.5 hours unlimited house wine/beer/soft drinks, either a 3-course seated dinner or standing menu with canapés, striking table centre displays, after-dinner DJ, full event management support, and complimentary cloakroom. Security/fire marshals are mandatory at £395 ex VAT per guard.

The venue can accommodate events from 30 to 800 guests depending on the space. The Sugar Rooms work well for smaller events with interconnecting upper and lower rooms, while King George III can handle larger seated dinners for up to 400 guests. The Porter Tun is suitable for awards ceremonies with stage setup, and Smeaton Vaults work well for conferences in cabaret or theatre style. Specific capacity depends on your chosen layout and room combination.

Christmas dates operate on a first-come, first-served basis with no holds available due to high demand. The venue cannot hold Christmas dates while you make decisions, so immediate confirmation is required once you're ready to proceed. For other events throughout the year, booking timelines are more flexible, but popular dates fill up quickly.

Security/fire marshals are mandatory at £395 ex VAT per guard (typically 1 per 100 guests). There's a minimum AV spend requirement ranging from £1,000 to £18,000 ex VAT depending on your event size and technical needs. For larger events, a Brewery Technical Support Manager may be required at £900 ex VAT. All prices are exclusive of VAT at 20%.

Christmas parties typically run from 6pm-1am with exclusive room hire included. Day events generally operate 7am-5:30pm, while evening events can run until 1am. Setup access is usually available from 7am on event day, though larger events may require setup the evening before. The venue needs rooms cleared by the end of your hire period.

The venue operates with in-house catering for most packages, including their Food Stall lunch concept and The Brew' Coffee Shop breaks. External suppliers may be possible but this isn't clearly specified in standard packages. The venue has preferred suppliers for AV and technical services, with minimum spend requirements that suggest in-house provision is standard.

Basic AV includes projectors, screens, lecterns with microphones, PA systems, and technical support with install crew. There are minimum AV spend requirements ranging from £1,000-£18,000 ex VAT depending on event complexity. For large conferences, a Brewery Technical Support Manager is available at £900 ex VAT. LED lighting systems and digital room signage are included in many packages.

The venue hosts diverse events including conferences, awards ceremonies, Christmas parties, and corporate events. Specific restrictions aren't detailed, but the venue operates professional event management and requires security/fire marshals for safety compliance. Events must end by contracted times, and rooms must be cleared promptly after hire periods conclude.

The venue will suggest alternative dates when your first choice isn't available. For example, if requesting a specific date in September, they might offer dates the week before or after. Some dates may be available on "2nd option" meaning another event has first priority but hasn't confirmed yet. The venue cannot guarantee backup dates will remain available while you decide.

DDR packages range from £85-£155 ex VAT per person and include exclusive room hire, audio PA system, Food Stall lunch with water and cordials, coffee breaks, complimentary snacks, iced water throughout the day, full event management support, complimentary cloakroom, Wi-Fi, LED lighting, and digital room signage. Additional rooms, overnight holds, and enhanced AV carry separate charges.
