The Light at Friends House

Room hire rates vary by space size and duration. Examples include: Ada Salter Suite 1-2 at £850 for 9am-5pm access (up to 22 cabaret style), Waldo Williams 1 at £595 for 9am-5pm (up to 16 boardroom), Marjorie Sykes room at £975 for 8:30am-5pm (up to 28 boardroom), and Benjamin Lay Suite at £3,750-£4,550 for 8am-5pm/7pm (70 cabaret or 154 theatre). All venue hire is VAT exempt and includes complimentary water on arrival, dedicated screen or projector, Wi-Fi access, and flip chart.

Full day catering packages range from £39-£52 per person including VAT. The £47 package includes welcome tea/coffee/pastries, mid-morning refreshments, deli buffet lunch, afternoon tea/coffee/cake, and still/sparkling water. The £52 package substitutes hot finger food buffet lunch. Canapés are available at £26 per person excluding VAT with 4 items selected from their menu.

The Light Auditorium can accommodate up to 1,000 guests and has its own entrance and reception area located opposite Euston Station. The venue can accommodate conferences but explicitly states they do not provide dinners or evening dining events. The space is only available on a full day basis with a minimum of 110 people.

Friends House does not allow external catering. All food and beverages must be provided through their in-house catering services. They offer a wide variety of food and drink options but do not serve alcohol, though they have non-alcoholic alternatives available.

Rooms are not automatically held and remain available for others to book until confirmed. For short notice events, final food orders must be submitted with significant lead time (example given was 8 days before the event). New customers must complete a new customer form to hold space in the diary.

The venue has minimum budget thresholds that vary by event size and requirements. Budgets of £100-£200 for room hire have been declined as insufficient. The venue may decline bookings that don't meet their budget requirements for the requested guest count and space needs.

Standard venue access is typically 8:30am-5pm or 9am-5pm depending on the space. Some quotes show extended hours until 7pm. The venue offers meeting spaces from 9am-5pm as standard, and overnight holds may be available for multi-day events requiring setup and breakdown time.

Friends House offers charity rates for eligible organizations. The Benjamin Lay Suite charity rate is £3,750 for 8am-5pm access (compared to higher standard rates). Multi-day bookings may receive a 10% discount on room hire. Organizations must qualify as registered charities to receive these discounted rates.

All rooms include dedicated screen or projector, and many spaces have additional AV capabilities. The Benjamin Lay Suite includes projector, lectern, roving microphones, PA system, and hybrid meeting options. The Light Auditorium comes with an inbuilt stage, AV system, and screen. Basic microphone and PA setups are available across meeting rooms.

Friends House does not offer accommodation. The venue is located at 173-177 Euston Road, London NW1 2BJ, directly opposite Euston Station. The Light Auditorium has its own entrance on Euston Road, and the venue is easily accessible by public transport with major station proximity.
