The Astronomy Photography Gallery is designed to celebrate the very best in astrophotography from around the world. The space provides a fun and atmospheric setting for anyone looking for an event space out of the ordinary. Each year the exhibition changes, allowing our clients to return again and again and marvel at the latest images.

The space can accommodate up to 100 guests for a standing reception or it works as a great add on or VIP area for a larger event at the National Maritime Museum. Why not add a visit to this exhibition to your event?




Frequently asked questions

Venue hire rates start from £10,000+VAT and are available Monday through Thursday (inclusive) between 09:00-17:00. This rate includes exclusive hire of the House, basic AV package (PA, mics, free standing screens or projector), dedicated Event Manager, venue staff and security, tables and chairs for Great Hall and Undercroft, and cleaner.

The Great Hall can accommodate up to 120 guests for seated meals in the classical Palladian-style room with marble floors. Ocean Court offers an atrium space for dinner, drinks and dancing all in one location. The Undercroft consists of three vaulted rooms below the Great Hall for receptions or post-meal celebrations.

The venue is available for hire Monday through Thursday (inclusive) between 09:00-17:00 only. Weekend availability and evening hire beyond 17:00 are not mentioned in the standard hire package.

The hire includes the Great Hall (seated dining for 120), the Undercroft (three vaulted rooms for receptions/dancing), South Lawn & Colonnade (outdoor reception with Greenwich Park views), and Orangery and South Parlours (three adjoining rooms for drinks receptions with gallery access and French doors to lawns). All spaces are closed off to the public during your event.

The basic AV package includes PA system, microphones, and free standing screens or projector. Additional AV requirements are subject to quote from external suppliers and would incur extra costs beyond the base venue hire fee.

Catering is subject to quote from external suppliers, indicating you'll need to work with approved caterers rather than bringing your own. Catering costs are additional to the £10,000+VAT venue hire fee.

The South Lawn & Colonnade provides outdoor reception space with sweeping views of Greenwich Park, while the Orangery and South Parlours have French doors opening onto lawns with views of Greenwich Park and the Royal Observatory. Receptions in the extensive grounds offer breathtaking views of the sunset over London city skyline and River Thames.

The venue hire includes a dedicated Event Manager, venue staff and security, and cleaner. This suggests comprehensive on-site support throughout your event within the Monday-Thursday, 09:00-17:00 timeframe.
