The Portland is one of our large meeting spaces that accommodates a range of events from 100 guests in theatre style to 36 persons in a U-shape arrangement. It can be used for a wide range of meetings and events - from exams to exhibitions.
The room is also fitted with three screens that can be used simultaneously and can be set up for a hybrid event.

What is the Day Delegate Package rate and what does it include?
The Day Delegate Package costs £64.00 per person (£71.50 including VAT) with a minimum of 80 delegates. It includes dedicated pre-event and on-site coordinator, room hire for the main meeting room, full day beverage service (three servings of coffee, tea, water and biscuits), working lunch with sandwiches, 3 hot items, fruit and sweet treat, afternoon snack selection, LCD/projector, screen, flipchart & pens, free Wi-Fi access, and delegate stationery.
What are the capacity limits for different seating arrangements?
Venue 1 accommodates a maximum of 150 people in cabaret layout or 328 people in theatre setup. The Portland room can accommodate 100 guests in theatre style or 36 persons in U-shape arrangement. All rooms have specific maximum capacities that cannot be exceeded.
What AV equipment is included and what are the additional costs?
Basic LCD/projector and screen are included in the Day Delegate Package. PA system with 1 microphone costs £180 including VAT. Additional microphones are £72 including VAT each. If you need more than 3 microphones, a dedicated sound engineer is mandatory starting at £540 including VAT.
Can I use adjacent rooms for catering and breakout spaces?
Yes, Venue 2 can be used as an adjacent catering space free of charge, but it's only available until 4pm due to other bookings. Nash and Portland rooms can be provided at £500 VAT exempt for additional catering space. Breakout rooms are available at £750 per day each.
What are the payment terms and how do I secure a booking?
Payment is processed through PayPal links sent to your designated email address. The venue can provisionally hold dates for 10 working days while you confirm your booking. Specific payment amounts vary based on your event requirements and final guest count.
Can I make last-minute changes to guest numbers?
Yes, guest numbers can be increased even at the last minute. The venue accommodated a client who added 4 additional guests just before their event, bringing their total from 36 to 40 attendees. However, you must stay within the room's maximum capacity limits.
What catering timing flexibility is available for conferences?
The venue accommodates specific break timings based on your agenda. For example, they can provide hot drinks for arrivals at 9:00-9:30, morning break at 10:45-11:15, lunch from 12:30-14:00, and afternoon break from 15:25-16:10. You need to provide your preferred timings in advance.
Are there any restrictions on room availability times?
Some rooms have time restrictions - Venue 2 is only available until 4pm as there are other events starting at 4pm. The venue can accommodate full-day events but specific rooms may have limitations based on other bookings scheduled.
What hybrid event capabilities are available?
Hybrid event costs range from £550 to £2,500 plus VAT depending on requirements. The Portland room is fitted with three screens that can be used simultaneously and can be set up for hybrid events. Specific hybrid requirements need to be discussed based on your technical needs.
What is included in the working lunch menu?
The working lunch includes sandwiches, 3 hot items, fruit, sweet treat, still & sparkling filtered water, and juices. The menu is based on chef's choice and accommodates dietary requirements. Additional working lunch options are available at £19.80 including VAT per person.
