The Great Hall terrace is a versatile outside event space. Suitable for receptions, BBQ, family fun days, outside team building and dry hire events. The Terrace can hold up to 450 guests for an event till 2100, and guests can move into the Great Hall for dancing or further entertainment from 2100-0000

Frequently asked questions

Lincoln's Inn is closed for the entire month of August and during Easter from 17 April at 15:00, reopening on 28 April. These closure periods are fixed and no events can be accommodated during these times.

Meeting spaces require a minimum of 30 guests. For events requiring the Old Hall or Crypt, there is a minimum requirement of 120 guests. Day delegate rate packages are available for 90 to 158 delegates with pricing at £127.20 + VAT per person.

Conference events can run from 08:00 to 17:00 with all guests departed by 17:30. Some events can accommodate until 16:00 with guests departed by 16:30. Evening events in spaces like the Old Hall can run until 22:30 with de-rig completed by 23:00.

Outside food is strictly prohibited - all catering must be provided by Lincoln's Inn's in-house catering team. This policy applies to all events regardless of size or type.

Room hire varies by space and duration - for example, the Old Hall & Crypt costs £2,750 for evening events (17:30-23:00) with a minimum food & beverage spend of £7,310. The Great Hall and lawn hire costs £7,350 + VAT for 11:00-16:00 with a minimum F&B spend of £13,950 + VAT.

The venue is not suitable for sixth form proms and some event types may be declined based on suitability. DJ and loud music requirements should be discussed as they may impact venue selection within Lincoln's Inn.

Security services may be required at £480 + VAT (£400 + VAT in some quotes). Additional fees may apply depending on caterer requirements, and there may be small additional charges for specific catering setups.

The venue can accommodate bookings well in advance, including dates in 2026. Tentative holds can be placed on available dates while you finalize details, and the sales team will follow up to confirm your booking intentions.

Availability varies significantly by day of the week. For example, in November there may be limited Thursday availability with more options on Wednesdays and Fridays. Some weeks may have no availability at all.

Setup access is typically provided 1-2 hours before your event start time. For evening events, access may be available from 16:00 or 17:30. De-rig time is usually 30 minutes to 1 hour after your event ends, with final departure times strictly enforced.
