What are the hire fees for different types of events at Mall Galleries?
Evening drinks receptions cost £6,500+VAT for up to 350 standing guests. Full day events cost £7,000+VAT (yoga event example) to £11,000+VAT (corporate events). All-day blank canvas hire for press events has limited availability with next slots in February and August 2025. A £500+VAT buy-out fee applies if using caterers not on the approved supplier list.
What capacity limits apply to different event formats?
The venue can accommodate up to 350 people standing for drinks receptions across all three galleries. For smaller events of 35 people, the East Gallery is recommended. The venue offers over 450sqm of dedicated events space with the West Gallery suggested as the main event space for activities like yoga sessions.
What's included in the standard hire fee?
All hire fees include a Venue Supervisor and gallery staff, one security guard during the event, two parking spaces outside 17 Carlton House Terrace, parking permits for deliveries along the Mall, and use of furniture and technical equipment. Technical equipment includes a small stage, lectern, two roving microphones, adjustable lighting, AV and audio facilities, free WiFi, and cloak rails.
What are the catering requirements and restrictions?
All clients must use one of Mall Galleries' approved caterers - catering is not included in hire fees and must be arranged directly with caterers. If you wish to use a caterer not on the approved supplier list, there's a mandatory £500+VAT buy-out fee. The venue can accommodate various catering setups including barista services with access to sinks and power outlets.
What technical and AV capabilities does the venue offer?
The venue includes 3-circuit energy efficient lighting, fully equipped PA system, acoustic sound panels, air conditioning, and AV facilities. Equipment available includes adjustable lighting, two roving microphones, a small stage, and lectern. The space features modern industrial ceiling, oak wood flooring, and free WiFi throughout.
Are there any mandatory additional services or minimum requirements?
One security guard is mandatory and included in all hire fees for the duration of events. Venue Supervisor and gallery staff are also mandatory and included. The venue requires use of approved caterers unless paying the £500+VAT buy-out fee. Two parking spaces and delivery permits are automatically included.
What are the setup and access arrangements?
The venue offers flexible access arrangements depending on event needs. Multi-day hires are possible (examples show 2-3 day bookings for setup and breakdown). Access can be arranged from early morning through late evening, with specific timing negotiated based on event requirements and venue availability.
