The Courtyard or the Garden are perfect post event drink spots. To hire these spaces you will be hiring an indoor space with it so no worries about the Great British weather.
With water feature details, garden furniture and biodiverse planting. We also have a small bee habitat to encourage bees.

What is the hire cost for Mary Ward Hall for conferences and large events?
The Mary Ward Hall’s standard room hire is typically from £8,000 VAT exempt for a full day. Discounts may apply for charities or on certain dates, with reductions confirmed in advance. We also offer a Day Delegate Package which can be a cost effective way of running your event from £65 inc VAT (All rates subject to increase)
What is included in the standard room hire fee?
Standard room hire includes use of Mary Ward Hall with house Wi-Fi, natural daylight, and basic furniture according to your layout (theatre, cabaret, etc.). We also include water and if its a full day hire you will be served tea, coffee and biscuits as well.
What are the capacity limits for Mary Ward Hall during conferences?
Mary Ward Hall accommodates up to 350 delegates theatre-style, 220 cabaret, 240 classroom, 68 boardroom, 500 standing cocktail reception, and up to 400 for a fork buffet or seated dinner.
Are there additional mandatory costs for AV equipment and technical support?
AV charges are not included in standard hire and must be added: a projector and screen is £345 plus VAT per day, PA system with 1 microphone is £345 plus VAT, additional microphones are £65 plus VAT each, lectern hire is £120 plus VAT. We have a list of available AV and we also offer an AV Package. (All rates subject to increase)
What are the catering options and associated costs?
We offer a sandwich, salad, crisps and fruit for £22 plus VAT per person (All rates subject to increase) Also we do Hot Fork Buffet from £30 plus VAT per person Other catering options are available including canapes, bowl food, BBQ and seated dinners
How do I secure a booking and what is the holding policy?
To hold a date, you must request the space be put on hold. Hold periods are time-limited; if not confirmed, the hold will be automatically released after the deadline provided (example: hold expiring at 11am on Friday). Booking is only confirmed with a contract and initial payment of 30% deposit.
What are the access and event timing restrictions?
Standard conference hours run from 09.00 to 17.30 We do offer flexibility on times subject to an extra charge
Are there any specific limitations on types of events or content?
Mary Ward House will consider a range of event types. We do have sound limits and due to neighbours we have a strict music time finish of 10pm
What are the procedures and costs if I want to bring in my own suppliers or external caterers?
External catering is allowed but must be explicitly discussed with the venue. Dry hire fees will apply (amount not specified), along with a mandatory £5 plus VAT per person cleaning/catering charge if bringing your own food. AV requirements must be agreed in advance; external AV suppliers may need approval and coordination with venue staff.
What are the policies for furniture, stationery supplies, and extra amenities?
Standard layout furniture is included within hire price. Additional items will incur charges but we can assist with other furniture, stationary, AV, printing etc.. please check with your event sales person for costs
Is there step-free access and are there access limitations for guests with mobility requirements?
The venue is Grade I listed and provides ramps and lift for all large rooms at Mary Ward House. Some small rooms on floor 2 and 3 are not accessible
