What is the venue hire cost for The Long Room and what spaces can it be combined with?
The Long Room can be hired with The Grand Temple as one of the adjoining rooms from £15,000 + VAT or as part of the adjoining rooms to The Vestibules from £10,500 + VAT. The space cannot be hired independently and must be booked alongside either The Grand Temple or The Vestibules.
What are the access times and late license options for events?
Standard access times are 07:00 - 23:00, with security and cleaning included for the live event. A late license until 2am is available for an additional £750 per hour, but this is not included in the venue hire cost.
What capacity restrictions apply to the venue overall?
The venue can accommodate a maximum of 1,300 guests for standing events throughout multiple rooms. Individual space capacities vary, but events requiring more than 1,300 guests cannot be accommodated.
What catering arrangements are required and who provides the service?
The venue works exclusively with Moving Venue as their catering partner. All food and beverage must be provided through Moving Venue - external catering is not permitted.
What audio-visual equipment is included and what needs to be brought in?
There is no built-in AV equipment in the spaces, so all audio-visual requirements must be brought in by external suppliers. The venue has a list of recommended AV suppliers who are familiar with the space and can provide screens, microphones, PA systems, and lighting.
What types of events are prohibited due to licensing restrictions?
Concerts are not permitted due to venue licensing terms. Musical theatre productions may be considered, but live music concerts are specifically prohibited regardless of the space hired.
What are the setup and breakdown arrangements for events?
Rig and de-rig days are available at 50% discount on the venue hire rate. Setup typically requires the evening before the event (5pm-12am) and breakdown the evening after (5pm-12am), though specific arrangements depend on event requirements.
Are there box office facilities available for ticketed events?
The venue does not have box office facilities. If you are selling tickets to your event, you must arrange your own ticketing system and box office services independently.
What guest journey and cloakroom facilities are available?
Guests enter through the iconic Bronze Tower Doors into the Grade II listed cloakroom where they can check bags and coats. They then ascend the sweeping marble staircase to access the event spaces, creating a dramatic arrival experience.
What security and cleaning services are included in the venue hire?
Security and cleaning for the live event are included in the venue hire cost during standard access times (07:00-23:00). Additional security requirements or extended hours may incur extra charges.
