Frequently asked questions

Venue hire starts from £8,500 + VAT for exclusive access up to 15 hours. This includes use of the gig-standard stage, state-of-the-art PA and lighting facilities, plus staging, DJ equipment, and photobooth. Sound and lighting packages are priced at £1,500 + VAT (valued at over £15,000).

Event staffing and security costs vary depending on hours of hire and number of attendees, typically starting around £4,000 + VAT. This covers security staff, tech support, and event management. Pre and post-event venue cleaning is an additional £500 + VAT.

The venue can accommodate up to 220 guests seated in presentation style in front of the stage, with plenty of standing room remaining for catering and drinks. For standing events, the 450+ square metres of internal space can handle larger numbers with flexible layouts using the exposed brick archways.

Village Underground does not book any public music events or ticketed shows through online platforms like Hirespace. These must be arranged directly with the venue's programming team, and the venue sales team cannot share those contact details.

The venue includes gig-level PA and lighting systems in the base hire. Large screen/projector with video technician support costs an additional £2,000-£4,500 + VAT depending on requirements. The venue has full tech specs available and can support presentations, live performances, and DJ setups.

The venue works with preferred caterers including Hot DDR Catering at £75 + VAT per person for full-day packages (breakfast, snacks, lunch, drinks, and barista). Bowl food packages start at £30.80 + VAT per person for 5 bowls plus 1 sweet bowl. External caterers are welcome but may incur additional fees.

Unlimited drinks packages start at £10 + VAT per person per hour for house beer, wine, and soft drinks, going up to £22 + VAT per person for premium packages. If you have drinks sponsors, corkage fees apply per person, or a 'bar buy-out' fee if supplying all drinks throughout the event.

The venue typically doesn't have availability on Fridays due to evening music events, though early finish times (before evening shows) may be accommodated. Saturdays are generally not available. The venue requires very short notice for bookings - sometimes needing confirmation by the next morning for staff availability.

Chair hire and delivery costs approximately £1,000-£1,500 + VAT for 100-150 chairs. The venue can provide staging, photobooth, DJ equipment, and has a backstage green room available. Furniture delivery and collection fees apply for external rentals.

Yes, the venue has hosted aerial performers attached to the lighting truss in previous events. The high ceilings, gig-standard rigging, and flexible layout make it suitable for various performance types including live bands, cabaret, and creative installations.
