Frequently asked questions

The HAC requires a minimum of 80 guests for Christmas parties. Groups under 80 are not accommodated for Christmas events, as stated in their booking policy for the festive season.

The main sales office number is 020 7382 1533, with direct lines available for specific sales executives (e.g., 020 7920 3310 for Isalyn Elie, 020 7920 3314 for Alen Mujakic). You can also reach them at sales@hac.org.uk or visit www.hac.org.uk/events for more information.

The HAC will decline events that don't meet their minimum budget requirements, as seen with a £1,000-£2,000 budget being deemed insufficient. They clearly communicate when budgets are not viable and suggest clients contact them if circumstances change or budgets become more flexible.

Corporate packages vary significantly by event type and space. Examples include: Bronze DDR Package at £160 + VAT per person (minimum 164 delegates), Long Room hire at £4,500 + VAT with £3,500 + VAT minimum catering spend, and Prince Consort Rooms wedding hire at £10,000 + VAT plus £1,000 + VAT kitchen buyout fee.

The HAC experiences high demand with many dates showing no availability, particularly for popular periods like December. They recommend booking well in advance and being flexible with dates, as they frequently respond that requested dates are unavailable and suggest alternative options.

The Prince Consort Rooms accommodate up to 700 guests for standing events and up to 400 guests theatre-style for ceremonies. The Long Room and other spaces have varying capacities, with specific arrangements depending on the event format and requirements.

Venue hire typically runs from 09:00 AM to 11:30 PM, including supplier access times, with all guests required to vacate by midnight. Sunday events are licensed only until 3:00 PM, though extensions may be possible through Islington Council. Suppliers have a maximum of 90 minutes to clear down after events.

Additional costs may include kitchen buyout fees (£1,000 + VAT for certain spaces), caterer damage deposits (£1,500 + VAT paid directly by your caterer and refundable after satisfactory inspection), and minimum catering spends that vary by space and event type.

The HAC sales team will suggest alternative dates if available and may recommend other suitable venues if they cannot accommodate your event. They maintain a policy of trying to find solutions, including connecting clients with alternative venues when The HAC cannot meet their requirements.

Due to noise protocols, drinks receptions cannot be hosted outside after 9:00 PM or sunset (whichever is earlier). Outdoor terrace access is weather dependent, and outdoor capacity availability varies by date and season.
