Rich Mix

The Studio costs £1,525 + VAT for a 5-hour evening hire (6:30pm-11:30pm on Saturday). A technician is mandatory at £125 + VAT for the same period, bringing the total to £1,650 + VAT. The venue has a 4-hour minimum hire requirement for all spaces.

The Studio can accommodate up to 100 guests in tiered seating with space for an additional 50 chairs in front of the tiered area. The space offers cabaret-style seating options and has a built-in lighting rig for presentations and events.

The Studio includes a large screen for projection and lighting as standard. Additional technical services cost extra: projection facilities £75 + VAT, PA system with 4 microphones £155 + VAT, and a mandatory technician at £125 + VAT for the hire period.

Rich Mix does not allow discounts to be made through Hirespace, which means direct bookings may offer more flexibility. For events requiring lower budgets, they typically look for bookings in the £1,500-£2,000 range rather than accommodating significantly reduced rates through booking platforms.

Rich Mix works with external suppliers for dinner services as they do not have a usable kitchen. They offer refreshment stations at £3.50 + VAT per person per service and drinks tokens at £5 + VAT per person. External caterers are permitted but incur a 10% corkage fee.

The venue operates from 9am-9pm for standard bookings. Events cannot run past 11:30pm, and the venue would be closed by 11pm for most bookings. All hire periods must work within these building operating hours.

The Studio has a bar situated just outside the space which can be opened for hired events. One bar staff member is included in evening hire costs (like the £1,525 Saturday rate), but additional service staff cost £396 + VAT for two additional staff members.

While specific deposit amounts aren't detailed for The Studio, other spaces at Rich Mix require a £400 refundable damage deposit. Payment terms and booking hold periods require direct discussion with the events team, and dates are typically held provisionally pending confirmation.

Rich Mix offers a 20% discount to registered charities, but this requires providing a registered charity number. As Rich Mix is itself a charity supporting arts and education in the local community, they may consider community rates for qualifying organizations.

The Studio includes tiered seating and additional chair options as standard. For exhibitions or displays, 6ft trestle tables with black linen are available at £80 + VAT for 10 tables. The space has staging capabilities and can accommodate various presentation setups with its built-in lighting rig.
