There is also a strong community feel in the area, with regular events and activities taking place. Points of interest include the Geffrye Museum and the Hackney Empire theatre.

There is also Hoxton Square, originally laid out in 1686, which is a central green space in Hoxton and one of its most attractive features. In the 20th century, the square played host to a weekly market which was popular with local residents and office workers from the City of London. The square has since been redeveloped and is now home to a number of bars, restaurants and cafes.
