Combustion Chamber
With multiple configurations available and easy access from our back-of-house areas, the Combustion Chamber is a great location for your next private dinner or celebration.
Courtyard
The Courtyard is a large exterior space, which provides excellent get in and delivery access to the venue, as well as serving as a versatile outdoor events space. We accommodate street food vans, tents and outdoor furniture. Large double doors lead to the Combustion Chamber, and a series of glass doors provide access to the Lower Link area. The Courtyard is available as both part and full building hire.

With multiple rigging points and direct connection to the Combustion Chamber, the Creation Studio is a perfect performance/breakout space during an event. It also works well as a catering prep space for larger events and has it's own smaller courtyard for load in/deliveries. It has great natural light but can also be fully dark and works well for photoshoots/filming. It is available part or whole building hire.

The Lower Link is an open spacious room for 140 standing that connects the Generating Chamber and the Combustion Chamber, with large double doors that open out on to the Courtyard. It is ideal for a registration / cloakroom area for events, as well as a smaller breakout space. The Lower Link is included in both part and full building hires.

The Upper Link Studio sits directly above the Lower Link and makes an excellent breakout space during an event, or can serve as a meeting/ green room or production office. Large windows overlooking the Courtyard mean lots of natural light and a window onto the Combustion Chamber gives a great overview. The Upper Link Studio is available as part of a whole building hire or can be added onto a part hire.

Retaining the features and character of an imposing industrial space, the building began life as a Victorian Power Station in 1896. Located in the heart of Shoreditch & a few minutes walk away from Old Street tube station, these multi-functional spaces are suitable for all types of productions & events. Bigger corporate hires are most welcome!
We are an unusual venue in that the building is also home to the National Centre for Circus Arts - a charity dedicated to supporting circus arts education & development. All revenue from commercial venue hire goes directly to the running of the centre.
