IMAX Theatre
With a screen the size of four double-decker buses, an 11.5m-wide stage and an auditorium that seats up to 414 people, our IMAX Theatre is the perfect venue for a large-scale conferences, meetings, AGM'S and TED-talks. The IMAX Theatre uses image maximum technology, a state-of-the-art surround system and one of the world's most sophisticated projectors, making it ideal for presentations and product launches. The IMAX can be hired alongside The Flight gallery to allow for break out space for exhibitions and refreshments.
Flight
Styled as a replica hangar, the Flight gallery is available for both day-time events like meetings and conferences, and evening events like product launches, awards ceremonies, dinner and dancing & seasonal celebrations like summer parties and Christmas parties. Your guests can dine, dance and enjoy beneath the incredible icons of aviation in an ambient space that accommodates up to 350 guests for a dinner with a dance floor or 400 for a reception.

Designed by the world-renowned Zaha Hadid Architects, this beautiful gallery is designed following the line of airflow around a Handley Page aircraft from 1923 suspended from the ceiling in a stunning display of imagined aerodynamics. Other objects in the gallery range from intriguing hand-held mathematical instruments to 18th-century human skulls. This gallery is uniquely designed so that your guests will have many talking points as they make their way around the exhibits. It is perfect for intimate dinners, drinks receptions and product launches.

Entertain your guests with the 1903 Harle Syke Mill engine which can be operational to bring the gallery to life. This space is perfect for Christmas drinks receptions, product launches and company celebrations.

Making the Modern World can accommodate up to 750 people for a standing drinks reception, 400 for a seated dinner on rounds and 100 for a long table dinner. It is perfect for drinks receptions, dinners, gala dinners and private dining.

Accommodating up to 50 people theatre style, Information Age is perfect for daytime and evening hire events including meetings, conferences, team building, breakfast meetings and much more. The gallery can be closed to the public on limited dates throughout the year and can be hired as part of a full museum hire.

Originally constructed in 1890, the Smith Centre has been elegantly preserved to present four spaces of varying size that suit a wide variety of event purposes. Among the original features is an open-plan courtyard area which can be enjoyed in conjunction with daytime hire of the Salon. From small meeting rooms for up to 20 guests, to the ample-sized salon accommodating 200 guests for a drinks reception, the Smith Centre provides versatility throughout. It is perfect for daytime events such as team away days, conferences and boardroom meetings, where breakout spaces may be required.

With over 3,000 objects in what is the world's largest collection of Medical galleries, there are plenty of stories for your guests to explore on how our lives have been transformed by medical research and practice. Designed by WilkinsonEyre Architects, the five galleries cover 3000m2. The galleries look over our Making the Modern World gallery and feature work by artist Marc Quinn.

Space is available for evening hire and ideal for drinks receptions for up to 400 people or dinner for up to 200.
