What is the room hire cost for the Compass Room and what does it include?

Evening hire of the Compass Room is £1,400 for 18:00-00:30 (6.5 hours). Day hire is also £1,400 for 12:00-18:00 (6 hours). The hire includes the circular space with floor-to-ceiling windows, private balcony, private bar, private bathrooms, and basic lighting rig.

What are the capacity limits and minimum booking requirements for events?

The Compass Room has a minimum booking requirement of 80 guests and maximum capacity of 180 for dinner. If you require space for dancing, capacity reduces to 160 guests. For evening events, a minimum buffet is required.

What are the catering costs and options available?

Hot fork buffet starts from £16.75 per person (£12.00 for children). Three-course meals start from £30.00-£34.00 per person (£15.00 for children). Canapés are £14.00 per person. Tea and coffee service is £2.25 per person.

What are the drink prices and bar arrangements?

Prosecco is £36.00 per bottle, wine from £24.00 per bottle, bottled beer £6.00 per bottle, and elderflower presse/juices £4.50 per litre. The Compass Room has its own private bar that only your guests will use.

Can I bring my own caterer or use external catering?

External catering is only permitted for religious purposes. If this applies, a separate dry hire package is available for £4,500, which includes dry hire of the Compass Room and kitchen with furniture provided.

What is the booking process and deposit requirements?

After receiving your signed contract (pages 3 and 12 must be signed), a deposit invoice for room hire only will be sent. The booking is not confirmed until the signed contract is returned and deposit is paid.

How does the provisional hold system work?

Dates can be put on hold, but if another client is also interested, it becomes a 'joint first option' on a first-come-first-serve basis. The venue will inform other holding clients when new enquiries are received for the same date.

What dietary requirements can be accommodated?

The venue's chicken is certified halal. They can accommodate various dietary requirements through their catering options, with specific menus available upon request.

What happens if I need to change guest numbers or event details?

Final catering requirements and event details are reviewed closer to the event date. However, the minimum catering requirement of 80 guests for the Compass Room must be maintained throughout.

Are there restrictions on music, entertainment, or event timing?

The venue has its own lighting rig available. Evening events run until 00:30, and day events until 18:00. Specific entertainment restrictions or music licensing details are not specified and should be confirmed directly with the venue.
