What is the minimum spend to book the Events space at KERB Sports Bar?
Minimum spends for the Events space ('The Pit Stop') typically start from £1,250 for small groups (such as 50 people for three hours) and can be significantly higher for exclusive hires or larger events. For example, the minimum spend for the Grandstand is £500 plus a 12.5% service charge, and for larger or peak time events, spends can range upwards (e.g., £8,000 for 60 people, £10,000 for 100+). All minimum spends are subject to a 12.5% service charge.
What deposit is required, and what are the payment timelines?
To secure a booking, a non-refundable deposit is required. The deposit amount is typically 50% of the minimum spend (examples: £250 for smaller events, 50% of the quoted total for larger or exclusive hires). The balance and any pre-orders must be settled prior to or on the day of the event; payment after the event is not permitted.
What are the capacity limits and how flexible are they?
The capacity of the Events space varies by room: 'The Pit Stop' comfortably accommodates around 50-70 people, while the Terrace and combined spaces can accommodate up to 150. For very large events (100-200+), both Podium and Terrace may be available together, but higher minimum spends apply. Maximum capacities must be adhered to as stated in each quote or booking confirmation.
What are the available time slots and latest event finish times?
Event timings are flexible but are determined by availability and prior bookings. Typical event slots run for 3-4 hours, with examples such as 4:00pm–7:00pm or 7:00pm–1:00am. For evening parties, standard finish time is midnight; later finishes might be possible by arrangement but are not guaranteed and may incur higher minimum spends.
Are there any mandatory add-ons or service charges?
A 12.5% service charge applies to all minimum spends. For certain spaces and activities, mandatory add-ons may apply: e.g., unlimited karaoke and darts in Touchline is £200, unlimited karaoke in Grandstand £100. Staffing and security costs are typically included in standard packages but inclusion and rates may vary for bespoke or larger events.
What catering and drinks options are available—and what is prohibited?
Food and drink must be purchased through KERB Sports Bar; outside catering is not permitted for private hires, as the venue is a food hall. Minimum spend can be allocated across food, drink, and paid games. Bar service and drinks packages (including unlimited drinks) are available—pre-orders are often required for larger groups or busy periods.
How does the pre-order process work for food and drinks?
Larger groups and exclusive hires must complete a food and drink pre-order at least 7 days prior to booking date. Pre-ordered items count towards the minimum spend, with any additional on-the-day purchases also eligible. No food and drink will be served unless pre-ordered for arrivals with large groups, to ensure smooth service during your event.
Can we bring our own entertainment, such as DJs or external vendors?
Bringing your own DJ is permitted in some spaces (e.g., Terrace), but the venue requires that all music and volume levels are appropriate, as some areas are open or near the public. DJ equipment may be available—prior arrangement is required. All external vendors (such as entertainers or AV suppliers) must be approved by the venue in advance.
Is security required and what are the related costs?
For most social and office events, standard security is included within the quoted package or minimum spend. For large-scale or high-profile events, the venue may require additional security at their discretion; costs vary and will be specified in your quote if required.
Are there any restrictions regarding outside catering or drinks?
Outside catering is strictly prohibited due to the venue’s food hall setup. All food and beverage consumption must be arranged via in-house packages or menus. Bringing your own alcohol or non-alcoholic beverages is not allowed.
What happens if we don't reach the minimum spend during our event?
If the agreed minimum spend is not met through pre-order or on-the-day purchases, the outstanding balance will still be charged after your event. This ensures compliance with your booking terms.
How do I confirm my booking, and how long can a provisional hold last?
To confirm a booking, you must pay the required non-refundable deposit by the deadline advised in your provisional quote. Spaces cannot be held indefinitely without deposit payment; if not paid, your booking remains unconfirmed and may be released to other clients.
