Captain's Quarters at Rhum Tavern

There is no traditional hire fee for Rhum Tavern’s Events space; instead, a minimum spend applies, which is used towards food and drinks. For the Captain's Quarters (up to 80 people), the minimum spend starts at £1,500. For exclusive full venue hire (over 80 people, up to 150 standing), the minimum spend is £6,000. A 12.5% service charge applies on the final spend.

Yes, a 12.5% service charge is mandatory and applied to your total final spend (for example, a £1,500 minimum spend would incur a £187.50 service charge). There are no further required venue hire fees. If additional services such as staffing, security, or AV technical support are added, these are listed as extras and prices are detailed on request or in tailored quotes.

The Captain’s Quarters holds up to 80 guests standing or 40 seated. Full venue hire accommodates up to 150 standing guests due to current licensing.

Food packages include options such as a Bronze Package with canapés for £35 per person, Silver at £45 per person, and Gold at £55 per person. Drinks packages range from £35 per person (prosecco reception, one cocktail, one beer or wine) up to £100 per person (prosecco reception, 4 hours open bar, selection of cocktails). All food and drink purchases contribute to your minimum spend.

Bookings are available for both daytime and evening events, with evening events commonly running from around 6pm until midnight or later.

DJ music and live bands are permitted in the Events space, and AV facilities include a DJ booth, microphone, projector, screen, and sound system.

Bookings include exclusive use of your reserved space (Captain’s Quarters or the full venue), private bar access, use of AV equipment (sound system, mic, screens), bespoke lighting and wood-panelled décor. Staffing such as bartenders and event managers are typically included to an extent, but specialist staff or event technicians may be extra.
