Guide prices
Indicative pricing based on standard rates. Request an instant quote for your exact brief.
Wedding ceremony hire costs £480 including VAT for a 50-minute slot. Children's birthday parties cost £390 + VAT Monday-Friday or £495 + VAT on Sundays, available in 3-hour slots (10am-1pm or 3pm-6pm). Other private event pricing varies by date and time - contact the venue for specific quotes as rates depend on your chosen date.
What are the capacity limits for different event types?
For seated meals with furniture, the maximum capacity is 80 guests when combining both available rooms. For standing events with just a bar and DJ, capacity can reach 100 guests. Individual rooms have lower capacities - contact the venue for specific room breakdowns.
What are the mandatory additional costs I need to budget for?
Security is mandatory for most bookings (exact costs available on their extras page). If you want to use your own caterer instead of their accredited ones, there's a buyout fee of £535-£550 + VAT plus an accreditation process. All food and beverages must be provided through accredited caterers as venues operate on a 'dry hire' basis.
What restrictions apply to children's birthday parties?
Children's birthday parties are not conducted on Saturdays at any Hackney venues. Parties are available Monday-Friday and Sundays only, in specific 3-hour time slots: 10am-1pm or 3pm-6pm. Hackney Town Hall does not host children's birthday parties at all.
How does the booking and payment process work?
The venue can place a provisional hold for 5 days (for weddings) or 10 business days (for other events). You'll need to sign a contract on pages 2 and 12, then receive a payment link that expires after the hold period. For weddings, you must also separately book Hackney registrars through their approved premises form.
What's included in the venue hire and what do I need to arrange separately?
Venue hire includes complimentary use of furniture. You must arrange all food and beverages through their accredited caterers (or pay the buyout fee). For weddings, registrar fees are separate and paid directly to the registrar team. Security, additional staff, and hire items are extra costs.
What are the timing restrictions for wedding ceremonies?
Wedding ceremonies are 50-minute bookings that start on the hour. Sample timing: guests arrive 15 minutes early, ceremony runs for 20 minutes, followed by 5 minutes for confetti/photos outside, then 10 minutes to clear the venue. The latest Saturday ceremony slot is 1pm.
Can I extend my event with drinks service?
Yes, exclusive drink reception add-ons are available for select spaces only, allowing you to extend ceremony hire with drinks service. They also offer comprehensive bar services and in-house bar-only options. Full details and pricing are available on their drinks page.
How far in advance should I book and what's the availability like?
Booking availability varies significantly by date and gets booked up well in advance. The venue can provisionally hold dates while you confirm other arrangements (like registrars for weddings). Some popular dates may already be fully booked, so early enquiry is recommended.
What are the catering requirements and restrictions?
All venues are 'dry hire' meaning all food and beverages must come from their accredited caterers. If you want to use your own caterer, they must pass an accreditation process and you'll pay a £535-£550 + VAT buyout fee. The venue can accommodate dietary requirements including vegetarian, kosher, and halal options through their approved caterers.
