Frequently asked questions

Evening hire fees are £6,500+VAT for drinks receptions and £7,000+VAT for dinner events. This includes exclusive access to all three galleries, venue supervisor and gallery staff, one security guard during the event, two parking spaces outside 17 Carlton House Terrace, parking permits for deliveries along the Mall, and use of furniture and technical equipment including a small stage, two roving microphones, adjustable lighting, AV and audio facilities, and free WiFi.

Mall Galleries can accommodate up to 350 people standing across all three galleries for evening drinks receptions. The venue offers 450sqm of dedicated events space with the West Gallery being the largest space suitable for main events.

Daytime hire is extremely limited due to public exhibitions. The venue has no remaining daytime availability for the remainder of 2024 and very limited availability in 2025, with next available dates for all-day blank canvas hire in February and August 2025. Filming during daytime must take place outside opening hours (before 10am or after 5pm).

All clients must use one of Mall Galleries' approved caterers - catering is not included in the hire fee and must be arranged directly with the caterer. If you wish to use a caterer not on the approved supplier list, there is a £500+VAT buy-out fee.

Full-day hire costs £11,000+VAT, though this can be reduced if you only require one gallery or opt for half-day hire. For smaller events of around 35 people, the East Gallery may be sufficient and could result in a reduced hire fee.

Yes, events typically take place with exhibitions as the backdrop unless you book blank canvas hire. For example, December events would feature the Royal Institute of Oil Painters exhibition, and May events might feature the Society of Botanical Artists exhibition.

The venue includes a small stage, lectern, two roving microphones, adjustable lighting with 3-circuit energy efficient lighting, fully equipped PA system, AV and audio facilities, free WiFi, air conditioning, acoustic sound panels, and cloak rails. The space features oak wood flooring and modern industrial ceiling.

Availability is extremely limited, particularly for daytime events. The venue frequently has no availability for requested dates and often refers clients to alternative venues. It's advisable to book well in advance, especially for 2025 dates.

The venue is unavailable during public exhibition hours for daytime events. Evening events are more readily available, and the venue can accommodate various event types including drinks receptions, dinners, product launches, fashion shows, award ceremonies, and corporate events.

The hire fee includes two parking spaces outside 17 Carlton House Terrace and parking permits for deliveries along the Mall. This facilitates both guest parking and supplier access for event setup.
