Amaryllis Fleming Concert Hall

The Amaryllis Fleming Concert Hall is our most versatile space at the Royal College of Music. Originally opened in 1901 and fully refurbished in 2009, the Concert Hall is an impressive space with a stunning Flentrop Orgelbouw organ forming the stage's backdrop. A performance space of the highest international standard, we can accommodate up to 370 audience members and up to 120 performers on stage. Newly installed lighting and sound equipment replicates professional conditions for recording and broadcasting your performance or conference.

Britten Theatre

The Britten Theatre's simple elegance, responsive acoustics and intimate tiered auditorium is the perfect space for opera, music, theatre and ballet performances. One of London's best-kept secrets, the theatre was designed by Sir Hugh Casson and is named after Benjamin Britten, a former student of the RCM in the style of an Italian opera theatre with proscenium arch, orchestra pit and counterweight flying system. The theatre boasts a lighting rig of intelligent LED fixtures as well as an additional stock of lighting available to hire.

The 1851 Courtyard & RCM Café

Our stunning 1851 Courtyard & RCM Cafe can host up to 280 people for a standing event. The Courtyard is a stylish and spacious venue full of original features, overlooking the stunning Cotes-Burgan atrium with a high glass ceiling letting in incredible light. From drinks receptions to product launches, the elegant and bright setting of our RCM Cafe is perfect for many a celebration. We have a built-in bar which serves food and drinks for performances.

Performance Hall

The Performance Hall is one of our newly built venues. An elegant space with beautiful wooden lattice panelling encasing state of the art acoustic panelled walls. The space is built with smaller, more intimate performances such as chamber concerts in mind and is able to accommodate up to 20 performers on stage. The stage is accessible and adjustable with different staging set-ups making the stage bigger or smaller according to the size of your performance or event. There is a large screen that fills the entire backdrop of the stage, perfect for showing accompanying artwork.

Parry Rooms

Be taken to a different time in the stunning wood panelled Parry Rooms. The Parry Rooms are situated high in the roof space of the main College building with unrivalled views of the Royal Albert Hall. A flexible space with interconnecting sound-proof doors which facilitates separate activities or use as one gallery space.

The Recital Hall is a light-filled and spacious venue that can comfortably accommodate up to 120 guests. It is ideal as a performance space for more intimate musical performances, presentations or conferences. The hall has a projector and large dropdown screen for your presentations. It is a functional and multi-purpose space that can also be used as a green room or temporary storage.

The Performance Studio is the perfect blank canvas for your event, the studio is a black box space that is fully versatile and multi-purpose. Accommodating up to 110 people, it is a great choice for product launches, rehearsals or to be used as a breakout space alongside some of our larger capacity venues.

The RCM Museum

The museum contains some of the richest and most relevant music-related objects in the UK and Europe. With more than 14,000 items, the collection represents music-making over a period of more than five centuries. Founded in 1892, it features a vast range of instruments, portraits, engravings, sculptures and photographs. The space is suitable for intimate dinners of up to 12, drinks receptions, and small, bespoke concerts. Tours by our expert team are available to add to any event for an exceptional and unique experience.

Belle Shenkman Studio

The Belle Shenkman Studio is a live room located directly under the Amaryllis Fleming Concert Hall, with its own Steinway Model D grand piano, three control rooms linked to performance spaces around the campus, and three rooms for composition, production and editing. The studio is a professional classical recording studio, maintained and run by qualified recording engineers.
