The Stage at Rich Mix

The Studio costs £1,525 + VAT for a 5-hour evening hire (6:30pm-11:30pm) including one bar staff member, with an additional technician at £125 + VAT. Screen 3 cinema hire is £700 + VAT for a 2-hour daytime screening, or £550 per hour for evening screenings. The Streetside room (dry hire only) costs £600 + VAT per day plus a £400 refundable damage deposit. Registered charities receive a 20% discount on venue hire.

The Studio accommodates up to 100 guests in tiered seating with space for an additional 50 chairs in front. Screen 3 holds up to 59 guests with 2 wheelchair accessible spots. The Boardroom and Lab have a maximum capacity of 20 people each. The Mix can accommodate 150 people seated or up to 300 standing.

Cinema screenings have a 2-hour minimum hire requirement. Most event spaces have a 4-hour minimum hire. The building operates from 9am-9pm, and events cannot run past 11:30pm. The Streetside room is non-exclusive as it has stairs accessing escape rooms, and no amplified music is permitted due to noise restrictions.

The Studio includes a large screen for projection, lighting rig, PA system, and technical booth with professional sound facilities. Cinema screens have digital projectors and PA systems. Additional AV costs include projection at £75 + VAT, PA system with 4 mics at £155 + VAT, while lighting is complimentary. Technician support is available at £125-£280 + VAT depending on the event.

Rich Mix works with external suppliers for catering as they don't have a usable kitchen. External caterers are allowed with a 10% corkage fee. Refreshment stations cost £3.50 + VAT per person per service, and drinks tokens are £5 + VAT each covering beer, house wine, or soft drinks. Light catering like breakfast pastries and lunch can be arranged within event budgets.

External decorations are allowed in most spaces. The Streetside room prohibits amplified music due to noise restrictions and is non-exclusive due to escape room access. Rich Mix doesn't allow discounts to be made through third-party booking platforms like Hire Space, requiring direct booking for any negotiated rates.

Initial enquiries are handled via phone or email consultation, followed by site visits when requested. Quotes are provided after discussing specific requirements, and provisional bookings can be held in the calendar. If no response is received within a specified timeframe (typically mentioned as Friday deadlines), dates are released from the diary.

Beyond base venue hire, expect costs for: technician support (£125-£280 + VAT), additional service staff (£396 + VAT for 2 staff), AV equipment rental, catering/refreshments, and a damage deposit (£400 for Streetside). VAT at 20% applies to most services. Bar staff may be included in some packages but additional staffing incurs extra charges.
