Council Chamber costs £1,000 + VAT (reduced from £1,700 + VAT) and Dorchester Library costs £2,000 + VAT (reduced from £2,700 + VAT). The garden and medicinal garden combined costs £2,500 + VAT with a minimum spend requirement of £69 + VAT per guest. All bookings have a minimum of £2,000 + VAT for venue hire regardless of event duration.

One-hour drinks reception costs £22 + VAT per guest including beer, wine, soft drinks and nibbles. Three-course dinner with half bottle of wine costs £70-74 + VAT per person with a 70-person minimum. BBQ and pizza packages are available for 3-hour events with unlimited drinks at £69 + VAT per guest minimum spend.

Council Chamber accommodates drinks receptions, Dorchester Library seats up to 180 for theatre style or handles dinner events, and the combined garden and medicinal garden spaces can accommodate larger outdoor events. The venue cannot accommodate events requiring more than their largest spaces can handle.

Events typically have access from 6pm for evening functions. The venue is closed for the entire month of August for refurbishment. Daytime events are sometimes declined, with the venue stating they "cannot offer the daytime" for certain bookings.

Inflatables are not permitted in the garden. All tickets must be pre-ordered with no door sales allowed. The venue requires confirmation that events adhere to Royal College of Physicians values and may request details about the event topic before approval.

The venue offers to hold dates on first option, but if another enquiry comes in, you have 48 hours to make a decision or your booking moves to a second option waitlist. The venue may decline bookings that don't meet their budget requirements, with responses like "we will not be able to assist due to your budget."

The venue frequently declines bookings under £2,000 + VAT total spend. For a 4-hour event, they quoted a minimum of £2,000 + VAT. Budget-conscious enquiries are often turned away with standard responses about being unable to match lower budgets.

All prices are quoted plus VAT (20%). The venue provides dedicated event managers, complimentary cloakroom, and Wi-Fi. AV packages start from £2,000 + VAT for theatre setups. Early access before 7am costs £250 + VAT per half hour, and catering before 8am incurs additional £250 + VAT per hour charges.

The venue is completely shut during August for soft refurbishment, with staff noting "Our venue is shut the whole of August for soft refurb." However, they can offer Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th August 2025 as exceptions. Staff also have scheduled annual leave periods that may affect response times.
