Frequently asked questions

The Courtyard requires a £500 minimum spend plus 12.5% service charge for groups up to 50 people. The Lounge (semi-private area) has a £400 minimum spend for up to 50 people. Full venue hire minimum spends vary significantly by date: £2,000 for some periods, £5,000-£7,000 for weekends, £16,000-£25,000 for December dates. All minimum spends include VAT and can be met through preorders and spending on the night.

A 25% deposit of the minimum spend is required to confirm bookings (e.g., £125 for a £500 minimum spend). Preorders must be paid in advance and are due one week before the event. The venue requires at least two weeks' notice for deposit payment, with some quotes showing payment needed by specific dates like "Wednesday next week."

The Courtyard accommodates up to 50 people and is covered with heaters, operating until 11pm. The Lounge (semi-private) also holds up to 50 people with sofas, armchairs and standing room. Full venue hire can accommodate 150+ people and operates until 2am (though the Courtyard closes at 11pm). The main venue closes at 3am for full hire events.

Cocktail vouchers are £13 per voucher. Canapé trays cost £245 for 10 trays of 6 different options including pork bai bbq, prawn dumplings, veg spring rolls, prawn crackers, pork belly skewers, and veggie tempura. The venue can label food for dietary requirements like seafood/pork identification and accommodate no-nuts requests.

Cancellations require at least 4 weeks' notice, and changes need 48 hours' notice. If you cancel after the 4-week deadline or don't show up, the full deposit is retained. The venue holds your reserved area for a maximum of 30 minutes - if you're late without contact, it's treated as a no-show and the deposit is forfeited.

Full venue hire includes complimentary cloakroom service, guestlist management upon request, ability to play your own music via DJ/playlist/live act, and access to both indoor and Courtyard areas. The venue can accommodate DJs with their own equipment and provides space for entertainment setup.

A 12.5% service charge applies to all spending and is mandatory. There are no hidden hire fees - the minimum spend covers the space rental. However, there are no refunds for unused drinks vouchers, unmet minimum spends, lower attendance than predicted, or drinks that aren't consumed.

Payments are processed through DesignMyNight's secure online system, though technical issues with payment links are common based on customer correspondence. Alternative payment methods like invoicing are available when online payments fail. The venue can also accept payment on arrival in some circumstances, and bookings can be reopened and dates changed if needed.

More about Lucy Wong

Just off Fitzrovia's vibrant Charlotte street is Lucy Wong. Serving Chinese and East Asian inspired cocktails and Cantonese treats.

Drawing influence from Richard Mason's 'A World Of Suzie Wong', the venue images the life of her daughter Lucy Wong. This is brought to life with the 1950s Hong Kong decor with Chinese lanterns and antiques. The result is a chic and cosy speakeasy-style bar with touch of elegance.
