More about The Counting House
The Counting House is an 18th century ballroom and function suite located above the Pear Tree, a famous bar restaurant and garden in Edinburgh's old town. It was built in 1749 and has a rich history, hosting Scottish dignitaries such as Robert Burns and Thomas Blacklock. The Usher family, known for their brewing and distilling dynasty, once owned the property. The venue offers a unique private event space in the city centre, with a three-storey house and open views of the Meadows, Bruntsfield, and Arthur's Seat. It also includes an open courtyard and a ballroom with a glass dome and chandeliers. Today, The Counting House is a public house that provides a charming and historic setting for guests to enjoy food and drinks. For more information and bookings, visit their website or contact them at 0131 667 7533. The Counting House ballroom is an ideal space for Weddings, Ceilidhs, Private Functions and more. Set just south of the City Centre, adjoining the historical pub The Pear Tree.
