Conference Hall at Nishkam Centre

The Conference Hall is available for a range of events and can accommodate larger groups, with room hire costs tailored to the specific event requirements, including the date, duration, layout and number of delegates. We are happy to discuss competitive rates for recurring or multiple bookings, with no standard minimum commitment required. The conference hall can start with an hourly to half or full day rates. Your event can vary from 30-200 people attending depending on the type of event you are looking to hold. The standard hire of the Conference Hall includes a range of facilities to support a professional and successful event, including: High-speed, free Wi-Fi Professional AV equipment and PA system Plasma screens for presentations and visual displays Bottled water for delegates AV and presentation facilities are available at no additional charge, helping to provide a convenient and cost-effective event experience. Our Conference & Events team can also discuss any additional requirements and assist with planning your room layout and event set-up.

There are no mandatory additional costs beyond the agreed room hire fee. Standard AV and presentation facilities, including screens and plasma screens, are provided at no extra charge. Cleaning and general venue support are also included as part of the room hire, with no compulsory additional fees for standard conference use. Any optional services or specific additional requirements can be discussed with our Conference & Events team and incorporated into your quotation where applicable.

Refreshments and catering are not included in the standard room hire. A range of catering options is available to suit your event requirements, including tea and coffee served on a per-person basis or an unlimited refreshments option. Bottled water is provided free of charge as standard. The venue has access to kitchen facilities; however, all catering must be arranged through the venue. This enables us to maintain appropriate standards and ensure catering arrangements are well coordinated. We have a choice of menus and options to choose from. In keeping with the values of the Nishkam Centre and to ensure the comfort of all visitors, delegates are kindly requested not to bring meat, fish or egg products onto the premises.

The Nishkam Centre is normally open from 9.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday. However, we can offer flexibility around event timings and are happy to accommodate earlier starts, later finishes or extended hours where this suits the requirements of your event. Weekend bookings are also available and can be arranged where this is the preferred option. Event timings are agreed in advance based on the nature and requirements of each booking. Please speak to our Conference & Events team to discuss your preferred date and timings, and we will be happy to explore the available options with you.

The Conference Hall can accommodate up to 200 delegates in a theatre-style layout, making it suitable for conferences, seminars, presentations, training sessions and larger meetings. For a more interactive format, the hall can accommodate approximately 90–100 delegates in a cabaret-style layout, using round-table seating. A range of room layouts can be considered depending on the nature and requirements of your event. The flexible space can be arranged to support different event formats, including presentations, workshops, networking and delegate discussions. Our Conference & Events team can work with you to determine the most suitable layout for your event, taking into consideration the number of delegates, programme and any specific requirements. If you are unsure which layout would work best for your event, we would be happy to discuss your requirements and recommend a suitable arrangement.

To confirm a booking, the client will be asked to complete and return the venue’s booking form. Once the booking details have been agreed, the Conference & Events team will confirm the arrangements and advise on the next steps. A deposit may be required, depending on the type and nature of the event. In some circumstances, full payment may be requested prior to the event. The venue will advise on the applicable payment arrangements when confirming the booking. Where appropriate, a provisional booking can be held for an agreed period, allowing the client time to confirm their requirements. The Conference & Events team will advise on the provisional holding period on a case-by-case basis. For bookings where payment is not required in advance, the balance or agreed charges will generally be invoiced following completion of the event. Payment terms and deadlines will be confirmed as part of the booking process. We recommend enquiring as early as possible, particularly for larger events and preferred dates, to allow sufficient time to discuss requirements, confirm availability and finalise arrangements.

The Nishkam Centre is a values-led, community-focused venue and has a number of policies in place to ensure a welcoming, respectful and comfortable environment for all visitors. The following restrictions and requirements apply across the premises: No smoking is permitted within the building or on the premises. The venue does not permit alcohol to be sold or served as part of events. In keeping with the values of the Nishkam Centre, delegates are kindly requested not to bring meat, fish or egg products onto the premises. All catering must be arranged through the events team on the venue’s approved provider list. The use of aesthetics, decorations, displays, signage or other visual installations must be discussed and agreed with the Conference & Events team in advance. Event organisers are responsible for putting up and removing any decorations, displays or other event materials and must ensure that the Conference Hall is left clean, tidy and in the same condition in which it was found. Any activities, entertainment or other event arrangements should be discussed with the Conference & Events team in advance to ensure they are suitable for the venue. These policies help us maintain the Nishkam Centre as a respectful, inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone. The Nishkam Centre is conveniently located close to Soho Road, where delegates can find a range of local shops, cafés and food outlets within approximately a 5–8 minute walk of the venue. This provides convenient options for delegates who may wish to purchase food or refreshments locally. However, organisers should be aware that the Nishkam Centre has its own catering arrangements and venue policies, which should be discussed with the Conference & Events team when planning your event.

The venue is designed to provide an accessible and welcoming environment for delegates and visitors. Accessibility The Nishkam Centre is DDA compliant and provides accessible facilities, including lifts and accessible toilets. The Conference Hall can be accessed by lift, making it suitable for delegates with a range of accessibility requirements. If you or your delegates have any specific accessibility requirements, please discuss these with the Conference & Events team when making your booking so that we can ensure appropriate arrangements are in place. Parking Free on-site parking is available on the Nishkam Centre/Nishkam Campus premises, subject to availability and on a first-come, first-served basis.
